AGC 2026 Honorable Mentions
We're excited to share several honorable mentions, recognizing some of this year's competitors for exciting or unique successes. Stay tuned for FAER's article in December about AGC 2026 featuring even more honorable mentions!
| | FAER would like to offer a special thank you to Michael O'Reilly, MD, for his profoundly generous gift of $100,000 on behalf of the University of Michigan, led by Team Captain Chad M. Brummett, MD. Dr. O'Reilly's gift represents the single largest individual donation in the AGC's history! | | | It's always fun to see who makes the first gift of the AGC, and who makes the last. This year, both these honors went to the Team Captain of the University of Colorado Benjamin H. Cloyd, MD, MIPH, whose generous giving waved the starting and ending flag for this year's competition! | | The University of Chicago took part in its first-ever AGC this year. Led by Team Captain Zheng Xie, MD, PhD, FASA, they entered with flying colors too, raising $11,067 from 61 donors - over double their goal! This stellar first showing earned their Team third place for both Number of Donors (#) and Amount Raised ($) among Small Tier teams! | | A Gift From Around the World! | | Support for the AGC isn't restricted to the U.S. - it reaches around the world! This year, the University of Washington, led by Team Captain C. Michael Crowder, MD, PhD, saw Murali Sivarajan, MB, BS, FACA, donate in support of the Team's AGC efforts and FAER from all the way in India! | | Every year, FAER is honored to see Teams and donors go above and beyond to surpass their past AGC records. This was precisely the case with the University of Utah, led by Team Captain Norman E. Taylor, MD, PhD. Blowing past their 2026 goal of $10,000, their Team raised a whopping $25,009 from 118 donors - more than four times their total raised in 2025! | | | | |
