As we enjoy the changing of the seasons with the beautiful colors of the leaves and getting reacquainted with our favorite sweaters and boots, we look back at one of the many musical highlights from last summer - the final movement of the Piano Quintet No. 1 in C minor by Ernö Dohnányi as performed at our Virtuoso Violins concert on August 7.

Margaret Batjer violin

Jeff Thayer violin

Aloysia Friedmann viola

Robert DeMaine cello

Jon Kimura Parker piano

A few words from Aloysia about the video:

"It’s probably no surprise to know how much our guest artists enjoy working with each other. But if you’re wondering why everyone in this Dohnányi Quintet group is smiling near the end, it might just have something to do with our Artistic Advisor Jon Kimura Parker making a quiet reference to John Williams' Superman film score, which a certain moment in the finale closely resembles!"
