October 5, 2026
Dear Emmaus Families,
We are looking at another hot week. Please be sure to send a water bottle with your student so they can stay hydrated. We will continue to monitor outside activity, and will move activities into the gym or the classrooms when warranted.
Last week in chapel, our 3rd graders acted out the story of David and Goliath. Mrs. Hart talked about the “Goliaths” we might face in our own lives: our sin, struggles, tough situations, problems and burdens. Just as David went into battle trusting God rather than his own strength, we too can rely on God when we face the “Goliaths’ in our lives. The stones David carried can serve as a reminder of ways we can continue to grow in and live out our faith: praying, going to church, reading our Bibles, showing kindness to others and telling others about Jesus. You are always welcome to join us for chapel on Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m.
This Friday marks the end of the 1st Quarter. On October 15 (Minimum Day) and 16 (No School), we will be holding Parent/Teacher Conferences. At your conference, you will receive your child’s 1st Quarter report card as well as their most recent MAP Testing scores. You will also discuss your child’s progress so far and their upcoming goals. Please see the links below to sign up.
Our Book Fair starts this Friday, and we still have quite a few volunteer spots available. To help make the Book Fair a success for our students, please see the information below to sign up. Thank you to all who have already volunteered!
May you have a wonderful week and continue to cling to Jesus, your Rock,
Mrs. Spiva
