FROM THE PTSA

UNDERSTANDING COLLEGE ADMISSIONS

Navigating the college admissions process can feel overwhelming. The ICS PTSA wants to hear directly from FAMILIES IN ALL GRADES on how we can support our community through the admissions journey.

We’re looking for insights on college admissions topics that matter to you most. Whether it’s financial aid, SAT test prep (like the current program through Paragon Tutoring) or many others, we want to provide resources that make a real impact on the high school experience at ICS.

Please take a moment to share your thoughts by clicking here to complete our quick survey. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

THINKING ABOUT COMPUTING IN COLLEGE & CAREER

ICS families are invited to a TESLA STEM PTSA-sponsored event with Michael Stiber, Ph.D., this Tuesday, November 19 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Zoom. Dr. Stiber is Professor and Chair of Computing & Software Systems at the University of Washington, Bothell. Link will be sent to registered participants only.

Whether you’ve wanted to build hardware and software for years or aren’t sure about studying or working in computing, computing is almost certainly going to be a part of your studies, career, and life. In this talk, I’ll discuss some thoughts about college: preparing and applying, comparing different universities, and majors and minors. I’ll also provide some insight into different career pathways and how computing figures into them — and some ideas how you can combine computing with a wide range of different majors in college. I’ll also happily answer any questions you might have regarding these topics.

Register here to reserve your space and to receive the link to join the Zoom meeting. Meeting link will be provided to all registered participants one day prior to the meeting. If you do not receive the link, please send an email to vp.programs@teslaptsa.org.

LOGOWEAR IS HERE!

First of all, thank you to those who have ordered ICS logowear! We have received the shipment, and the items will be ready for pick up on Friday, November 22 during lunchtime. We will have a table set up for Logowear Distribution. If you or your students ordered them, please be sure to have them picked up.

FROM THE ASB

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY TUTORING

Middle school and high school students seeking academic support are invited to attend NHS tutoring sessions each week. NHS members in 11th and 12th grades will be available to help with Math, English, and other subjects.

Join us in Ms. Segall's room every Monday during lunch or Thursday after school for free tutoring. Whether you need help with a specific topic, preparing for an upcoming test, or just want to review, we're here to help.

No appointment is necessary—just drop in! These sessions offer a great opportunity for students to get the help they need in a friendly and supportive environment. For more information, feel free to reach out to icsnhs@outlook.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
