The Message this Week

Preaching Text: Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 4:1-7 [5:16-26]

Pentecost! It may feel like old news because we’ve been spending time with the disciples after they had received the Holy Spirit…we have seen what the Spirit empowers and equips them to do. What a great reminder that the Holy Spirit comes to us as well. We can also build communities around Christ’s love…right where we are!

Holy God, Holy Spirit, you fill us with your love and send us to serve your people- to build communities centered on your story. Help us to trust your presence and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WONDERING...

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith.

How do I know if the Holy Spirit is working?

• Kindle in us the fire of your Holy Spirit, that we might live our faith, and bear the fruits of patience, kindness, generosity, self-control, and all that allows us to live in healthy and loving community with one another.
• Inspire us by the Holy Spirit to advocate for the wellbeing of your glorious creation.
• Fill our leaders with the Holy Spirit, that they might understand and respect the communities they serve, regardless of the languages they speak, and act on behalf of the most vulnerable.
• Breathe your Holy Spirit into all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit, especially Chris & Connie Gimre, Ken & Sue Issel, and Rick Tornberg, that they might receive your courage, endurance, and healing power.
• Pour out your Holy Spirit on those who are caretakers, whether for young children or aging parents or anyone in between.
• Thank you for all your saints, who lived lives of faith by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• For our graduating seniors: Evelyn Gibbons, Alex Gimre, Jack Gimre, Lila Homewood, Owen Homewood, Dylan Kanzler, Evan Lagana, Elle Larsen, Charlie Loboda, Tyler Masoncup, Benny Meier, Riley Pryor, Ryan Tobin, and Lucas Vogt.

These and the prayers of all creation we lift to you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
