🍂 It’s Floof Season: Let’s Talk Maine Coon Coat Care
One of the things that makes a Maine Coon so spectacular is that gorgeous coat — but all that floof requires a little maintenance!
As the seasons change, you may notice more loose hair around the house and more coat coming out during brushing. Maine Coons have substantial coats that benefit from regular grooming, and staying ahead of loose hair and tangles is much easier than dealing with mats once they’ve formed.
A good brushing routine also gives you a chance to check their skin and catch little tangles before they turn into bigger ones.
A Few Tips From Sarec’s 🐾
Brush regularly. A few short grooming sessions throughout the week are often easier on both you and your cat than one marathon brushing session.
Know the trouble spots. Pay extra attention behind the ears, under the front legs, around the belly and britches, and around that magnificent Maine Coon ruff.
Catch tangles early. Small tangles are much easier — and much more comfortable for your cat — to deal with before they become mats.
Start young. Get your kitten accustomed to brushing, having their paws handled and being gently groomed. It makes life much easier when that tiny fluffball grows into a large, very fluffy adult. ❤️
And speaking of brushing...
