Domestic Violence

"The Caring Church Responds"

Psalm 55

For too long, domestic violence has been a secret whispered behind church doors. Too many believers have been handed a quiet, heavy burden: pray harder, submit more, forgive seventy times seven, and preserve the marriage at all costs. Yet when the church stays silent and mishandles abuse, it doubles the trauma for survivors.

This Sunday morning we will learn that churches not only have a moral and spiritual mandate to pivot from passive denial to active protection, but we also want to be a church that is equipped and cares well for victims of abuse.

A Note to Parents Regarding Sunday's Message

Dear Parents at Family of Christ, we deeply value partnering with you as you lead and disciple your children. We occasionally address sensitive topics from a biblical perspective as we navigate the realities of a broken world. This Sunday (November 8) we will be focusing on the church's caring response to those who are victims of domestic violence. Since we know every child processes these conversations at different stages, we want to give you a heads-up so you can decide what is best for your family. One option is having your child attend Kidzone Sunday school while you worship at 9am.

Flying Solo: A New Direction

Flying Solo will gather Thursday, November 12, at 6pm at Family of Christ to discuss a new service-oriented focus for the group and consider a new name that reflects that mission. As part of this month’s project, we’ll be making small Christmas gifts for seniors. All are invited to join us as we seek new opportunities to serve the Lord with gladness!

Join the Festival Choir for Christmas!

Celebrate the season with us! The Festival Choir invites singers from 9th grade through adulthood to share in the joy of Christmas through song. We’ll meet on Wednesdays at 7:15pm, preparing for our evening Christmas Eve service filled with powerful music that gives glory to the newborn Christ. This is a perfect opportunity for those who love to sing and can commit to the Christmas season. Come add your voice to this meaningful celebration of Christmas!

Thank you to the more than two dozen volunteers who served at Trinity First School on Halloween, completing projects that helped create a more welcoming environment for learning.
