NEW TR-4050 for 2WD!

The 4WD TR-4050 was introduced to the market by SST back in 2019 and as early as day one people started asking for a 2WD version. TREMEC has finally released the 2WD version and we have a few in stock and more on order!

We also have an optional upgrade to our compact, short throw STX Shifter®.

Check out the tech article below on choosing the best transmission for your truck.

Tech Corner

The best transmission for your truck/SUV

Do you have a 4WD? You have one choice, but it's the best choice of all! The TR-4050 is geared for the trail and the highway. It's great for towing a trailer or boat, mudding, and crawling. It has enough overdrive for a daily driver.

Do you have a 2WD? You have options!

TREMEC TR-4050 5- Speed for 2WD - This transmission is built for work trucks. It has low first and reverse gears so backing the boat down the boat dock or pulling your camper up the mountain will be smooth and easy. It is also great for your wrecker or other heavy-duty vehicles.
TREMEC TKX 5-Speed - This 5-speed is our best-selling transmission for a reason. Compact yet strong with a 600 lb•ft torque capacity, this is a versatile transmission with an affordable price point. You'll love how it shifts and the overdrive will help you save at the pump.
TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed - If you're swapping out for an LS, HEMI, or Coyote engine, racing your truck on the weekend, or just like having that extra gear, the Magnum is for you! At 700 lb•ft torque capacity, it's our most robust transmission. The shift points make this transmission a favorite at the track.

No matter what you choose, we have a variety of shifter positions to get the shifter in the best location for your application. Call 888-609-0023 to learn more, or get a Quick Quote online.

Customer Testimonials

Wish I had put one in sooner.

Just a quick note to let you guys know that this TKX is one very nice transmission. The shift pattern is very close and comfortable. Wish I had put one in sooner. Great piece of engineering and great instructions for installation in my 62 Corvette. The bottom line is I’m one HAPPY customer.

Thanks for your help,

Jim

"My new family" - Thanks, Lou!

Thank you for your wonderful email. I am beyond words with regard to my purchase.

Fifty-one years ago I purchased my 1969 GTO during my last year of college. I sold it and always wished I could get another one.

Well, I did. At 72 my wish came true. Same year and color but no 4 speed. My friend suggested your product and I wasted no time (50 years is long enough to wait) and ordered your product.

I will be glad and proud to take pictures and show the transformation for others to see. Thank you for that opportunity.

I look forward to sharing my car with others and representing my new family.

Take care and thank you again.

Lou
