Jennette Bergstrom Announced as Keynote Speaker for

NSNA 44th MidYear Conference

Queens, NY – July 29, 2026. The National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) is excited to announce Jennette Bergstrom as the keynote speaker for the NSNA 44th MidYear Conference, October 29-31, 2026, in Charlotte, NC.

Keynote speaker Jennette Bergstrom, MSN, RN, CENP, is a distinguished nursing executive with a demonstrable record of achievement in healthcare leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence.

"Being selected as the NSNA keynote speaker for the 44th MidYear Conference is a full-circle moment for me," said Ms. Bergstrom. "Thirty-nine years ago, I stood exactly where these students are today—full of nerves, curiosity, and a deep desire to make a difference. To return to the stage now, not only as an experienced RN but as a Chief Nursing Officer, is a profound honor. I view this role as a responsibility to serve as a bridge between the rich legacy of the mentors who guided me and the vibrant, innovative purpose I see in this next generation."

Jennette Bergstrom is currently Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at CommonSpirit St. Anthony Hospital, where she provides executive leadership to a Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke and Cardiac Center. She also served as past President of the Denver Regional Nurses Association.

Ms. Bergstrom’s career highlights include her tenure as Chief Nursing Officer for UCHealth, where she played a critical role in the establishment of new hospitals with successful accreditations from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and The Joint Commission. She has also served as a Consultant for Oliver Wyman, providing expert guidance in healthcare, quality, regulatory compliance, staffing, and education/orientation.

"Jennette Bergstrom’s career makes one point unmistakable: leadership in nursing is measured by what becomes safer, stronger, and more possible because someone chose to act," said D. Ryan Barrett, NSNA President. "Her work spans hospital launches, high-acuity care, operational strategy, and professional advocacy. That breadth gives student nurses a clear view of what consequential leadership requires. We are not observers of where nursing goes next. We are already accountable for shaping it—with courage, disciplined judgment, and an ethic of service."

Jennette Bergstrom earned a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron. She is Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and holds certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management, and Healthcare Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.

"I am deeply grateful to the NSNA Board for this trust and am energized to help nursing students realize that they are already equipped to own, shape, and enhance the profession for the better," Ms. Bergstrom expressed.
