PORTION OF ROUTE 671 CLOSED WITH DETOURS ON ROUTE 58
Road closure of Route 671 begins as early as July 20
FRANKLIN – Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close Route 671 (General Thomas Highway) in both directions between the intersections of Route 734 (Handsom Road) and Route 650 (Shady Brook Trail) in Franklin. Signed detours will be in place directing traffic to Route 58 (Southampton Parkway) and Route 35 (Meherrin Road).
From Route 58 east to Route 671 south:

Take the Route 35 (Meherrin Road) exit

Turn Right to proceed south
From Route 58 west to Route 671 south:
·
Take the Route 35 (Meherrin Road) exit
·
Turn Left to proceed south
Travelling Route 671 north:
·
Take Route 35 to the Route 58 interchange
·
Proceed to the right for Route 58 east
Construction includes replacing the three-pipe culvert currently in place with a double-barreled box culvert. The estimated completion date is fall 2020, and all construction work is dependent upon weather conditions.
