| | Lord Jesus, sometimes I care too much about what others think and forget that Your opinion is the one that truly matters. Teach me the quiet joy of humility and help me serve with love, even when no one notices. Keep my heart focused on You instead of seeking praise or recognition. Help me walk through this day with a grateful heart, trusting that being close to You is enough. Amen. | | MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL | | |
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him." Romans 15:13
Dear Parents,
As we start our month of November, we are learning about the virtue of hope! The virtue of hope allows for us to desire God above all things and to trust Him for our salvation. During this month, we will be focusing on Saint Josephine Bakhita. She was born in Sudan and was captured as a young girl. During most of her childhood and young adult life, she was a slave who worked for several different families. Finally, she was sold to a family who had her watch their daughter, Mimmina.
When Mimmina went to Italy to attend school, St. Joesphine Bakhita went as well. It was there that she learned about Jesus from the Canossian Sisters. When it was time for Mimmina to go home with her family, St. Jospehine Bakhita refused to go. It was a judge who finally ruled that St. Josephine was free since slavery in Italy was illegal.
St. Joesphine eventually became a Canossian Sister. She was beloved by the people that she met, and she helped in her order by welcoming visitors, cooking, sewing, and embroidery. St. Josephine Bakhita is a model of hope and forgiveness even forgiving the people who enslaved her. She is quoted as saying that she "would kiss the hands of the men who tortured me, because without them I would never have found Christ." St. Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!

Thank you to everyone who supported our food drive last week! Together, we donated 1,720 pounds of food. These donations have been delivered to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. William Catholic Church, where they will help support families in our community. Thank you for your generosity and for making this wonderful effort such a success!
God Bless,
Erin Vu

Technology, Noise, and Rekindling Silent Recollection
Advent is a season of silent prayer in anticipation of the coming of Christ. Christians understand that Christmas isn’t merely a historical event, but a living reality: God is still with us. The question we must ask is, are we truly with Him through our time, attention, and actions?
Join Smart Families as we explore the dangers of a digital environment that often bombards us with audible, visual, and mental noise, leaving us distracted and fragmented. Prepare for the Advent season this year and lean into the depths of Psalm 46’s invitation: to “be still, and know that I am God.”

Grandparent's Day is coming up!
Please check-in with your parents to ask if they need any help registering. It is important to provide them with the correct teacher and grade level information so that we may easily connect your children with them on Grandparent's Day. If you register for them, please let them know so that we don't have double registrations by mistake.
Your parents will be able to order and pay for lunch when they RSVP or they may bring their own lunch. Some grandparents like to order for their grandchildren as well. Please double check with your parents to see what they decide to do prior to making lunch decisions for your child.

Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM)
All persons who engage in ministry in the Diocese of Austin (clergy, religious, employees, and lay volunteers) must complete the EIM registration and training through VIRTUS® Online in order to serve in ministry. New applicants, and existing applicants who have never attended an EIM Workshop, must attend an in-person EIM Workshop to fulfill their initial EIM compliance requirement. Please visit https://www.austindiocese.org/eim-instructions for more information. If you are a new applicant who has submitted an EIM Application and need to attend an EIM Workshop, contact your parish/school EIM site administrator regarding the status of an in-person EIM Workshop at your location.
All volunteers must wear EIM name badges to indicate they are volunteers with Holy Family Catholic School. Once you have completed the EIM workshop, please contact Dr. Danna Kelemen for a new or replacement badge, or if you have any questions regarding EIM compliance.
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our community and children safe.
