Greetings!

Today, we celebrate!

Thanks to you, Holden Village has met the challenges of this unique and difficult year with innovation and grace, and that's all thanks to the care of our community.

We’ve updated our infrastructure and deepened our commitment to sustainability, justice, equity, and care for our wilderness home.

We are grateful to every one of you who helped Holden thrive in the midst of this murky uncertainty. Here’s a sneak peek at just some of the exciting developments to look forward to when we’re able to safely gather again.

Until that moment arrives, we wish for you good courage and the peace and challenge of the mountains.

We’ll see you soon.

Faithfully,

Stacy Kitahata, Mark Bach, and Kathie Caemmerer-Bach

What's New!

One of the most dramatic transformations has been the Holden Art Studio! New renovations, new classes, and a new arts philosophy await our visitors.

(Note: All individuals pictured went through a strict quarantine period and COVID testing upon entering the Village.)

Thanks to our generous donors, our library has received 121 books since July 2020!

Donors purchased and donated forty-three items from our new online wish list, including our new toaster Burnice, pictured!

We tested more than a mile of fire hose for quality control and safety measures!

We practiced new recipes on our smaller community, with a goal of finding new dishes to format for large-scale summer cooking.

We hand sewed more than 200 masks for distribution to local hospitals, staff members, and through the store.

We repainted the interior of Lodge 6, and repainted the Village Laundry floor for increased hygiene and safety.

We mended a hole in the penstock pipe which provides the critical water supply to keep Holden supplied with hydro power.

We chained wood to keep our buildings heated and maintained throughout the winter.

We created an online version of the Holden store, allowing folks to stay connected from afar with our unique collection of jewelry, pottery, clothing, books and more.

We hosted our 1st ever online auction! You helped raise more than $50,000 for Holden Village. The mattress fund raised $11,000 from 58 donors, enough for about 15 new queen size mattresses!
And more! Our dedicated staff worked tirelessly to keep Holden Village alive and flourishing. Together, we:

  • Upgraded our QuickBooks Point of Sale software and acquired a new Touch & Tap Screen pin pad and developed a new skill set for online sales
  • Drastically modified the budget to weather the difficulties of running a business through COVID
  • Deep cleaned and organized all guest lodges
  • Established more connections with local vendors and distributors
  • Rewired the Village Center
  • Completed a fall cleanup of Fields Point and B&B properties thanks to a small work group of volunteers
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of keeping Holden Village thriving! If you'd like to be part of this transformation of Holden Village, you can donate here.
