| | A Successful 11th Annual Birch Golf Classic! | | |
What an incredible day! The 11th Annual Birch Golf Classic was a record-breaker, raising $367,000 for Key Recovery Services & Life Skills Center and a pilot program for Whatcom & Skagit Detox. With this year’s success, the total raised to date is $2.4 million — all fully underwritten by Birch Equipment.
This one-of-a-kind Pro-Am style golf event, held each year on the Thursday after Labor Day at Bellingham Golf & Country Club, celebrates Trailblazers representing the region’s diverse trades, industries, and community, who play as ‘Pros’ alongside teams from local businesses and community members. Top-earning teams getting first choice of Trailblazers and exciting prizes, including weeklong stays in Hawaii, private jets, and suite experiences for the Mariners, Hawks, and Kraken.

A Ferndale native and former UW and Tennessee Titans quarterback, Jake now teachers & coaches locally, co-founded Locker Room Fitness, and remains deeply involved in serving his community.
Flo Simon - Law Enforcement
Flo served the Bellingham Police Department for nearly 33 years, rising from officer to Interim Chief as the first woman to hold each rank, and continues to serve the community through leadership roles with the FBI National Academy and local foundations.
Sam Adkins - Professional Athlete/Business Owner

Since 1957, the Western Washington University men's rugby team has been a symbol of athletic excellence and a pillar of the Bellingham community. As one of the longest-running sports clubs at WWU, the team has built a proud tradition of hard work and success.
Recent Achievements & Team Highlights: The current team is a dominant force in collegiate rugby, consistently performing at a high level. They are the reigning Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference (NCRC) Champions for 15's and 7's, and have achieved national recognition, including a historic D1AA National 7's Championship title and a top-three national ranking. The program is known for producing elite talent, with players earning All-American honors and being selected to national teams. With the largest recruiting class ever for WWU men's rugby, the team is poised to continue its winning legacy and reach even greater heights.
