Community eNews | October 25, 2026 | | A Message from the Athletic Director: | |
Dear Carondelet Community,
As we step into late October, our fall sports teams are gearing up for the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) championship tournaments and the North Coast Section (NCS) postseason. Our student-athletes have put in relentless effort this season, and their dedication is truly paying off. Please join me in cheering them on as they represent Carondelet in these crucial upcoming matches!
Looking ahead, winter sports tryouts officially begin on Monday, November 2. Please encourage interested students to ensure all required athletic clearance forms and physicals are submitted prior to tryout day.
On a personal note, serving as the Athletic Director here at Carondelet is an incredible privilege. Every day, I am inspired by the grit, sportsmanship, and character our young women display—both in competition and in the classroom. Working alongside such dedicated student-athletes, supportive families, and outstanding colleagues makes this role deeply rewarding. Thank you all for your continued support of our athletic programs and for fostering an environment where our Cougars can thrive.
Go Cougars!
Alisa Payne
Athletic Director

| | Halloween Costume Dress Code Reminder | | |
We are excited to celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30, and encourage students to have fun, be creative, and show their school spirit!
Students are welcome to wear costumes to school, provided they follow these guidelines:
-
School-Appropriate Costumes: Costumes must be appropriate for a school setting and in good taste. Inappropriate, violent, graphic, or derogatory words, images, or props are not permitted. Weapons or imitation weapons of any kind are prohibited.
-
Cultural Sensitivity: Costumes should be respectful of all cultures, identities, and backgrounds and should not stereotype, mock, or demean any person or group.
-
Masks & Face Paint: Full-face masks and face paint are not permitted. Students' faces must remain visible throughout the school day.
-
Clothing Guidelines: All costumes must follow our dress code expectations. Shirts must have sleeves (short or long) and extend below the waistline. Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh or longer.
-
Footwear: Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required.
-
Safety & Learning: Costumes should allow students to participate fully and safely in classes and school activities without causing disruptions.
When in doubt, please ask! Students with questions about the appropriateness or cultural sensitivity of a costume should check with the Dean of Students in advance of Halloween.

You Still Have Time in the Next Couple of Days to Donate to St. Marty’s Party Collection Drive!
Every year, we host children from the Monument Crisis Center, Community Youth Center, and Contra Costa Foster Friends for a Halloween Extravaganza. This is one of Carondelet’s longest traditions in which we directly serve and celebrate our community partnerships.
We rely on donations and volunteers to help make this event happen.
See photos from previous years on SmugMug.
Each 5th period is encouraged to bring in donations like bags of nut-free candy, stuffed animals with the tags, children’s books (ages 5–13), as well as monetary donations. We also have a Target Wishlist, and those donations will be sent directly to the school! Please note: in the gift message portion, please write your student’s name, as well as their 5th Period Teacher.

Celebrating Self-Love
This October, our Wellness Team is celebrating self-love: recognizing our worth, embracing our individuality, and offering ourselves the same kindness we so freely give others. As young women, our students constantly receive messages about who they “should” be. Self-love reminds us that we don’t have to be perfect to be worthy. Instead, we can embrace ourselves as imperfect, growing, beautiful humans. As Dolly Parton reminds us, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” This month, we invite your daughters to celebrate exactly who they are. Please encourage them to check out our Cannon Events Calendar for daily offerings.

Need a Tutor?
Carondelet’s new peer tutoring platform, PeerKonnect, is up and running. On this platform, students can browse our National Honor Society tutors to find the right match and schedule tutoring appointments. Students can also use the filter feature to find tutors with expertise in specific classes in which they need support. Tutoring takes place on the Carondelet campus from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM every day. Follow these instructions to set up a learner account on PeerKonnect. This video can also help walk you through the process. Questions?
