Join the Cohen Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies on our 2025 Study Tour! Our next trip will explore International Human Rights and how the legacy of the Holocaust led to innovations and new approaches to preventing and prosecuting atrocities. This trip will go to Nuremberg, Strasbourg, and The Hague, tracing the history of international courts and current systems of cooperative justice.
Starting in Nuremberg, we will look at how the International Military Tribunal following WWII created the basis for international criminal law. We will then travel to Strasbourg to visit the European Court of Human Rights which interprets the European Convention on Human Rights. We will finish the trip in The Hague at the International Criminal Court of the United Nations, the first and only permanent international court with jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression. Along the way, we will also visit significant historical sites and cultural sites, such as the Nazi Kongresshalle, the Strasbourg Cathedral, the Struthof Concentration Camp & Memorial Alsace Moselle, and Amsterdam.
The dates of travel will be March 13-22, 2025, and the trip package includes round-trip airfare, great accommodations, group activities, ground transportation in Europe, the full-time services of a group travel director (who will travel alongside the group while abroad and handle all logistics), and more. The Cohen Center will also coordinate optional pre-departure educational opportunities such as special lectures, a book group, and/or other offerings based on the group's interests. The target audience for this trip is local educators, community members, elected officials, alumni, and KSC faculty and staff. The cost of the trip is $5,000 for shared accommodations and $5,750 for a single room.
