Clambake Scheduled for June 18 Cancelled

Due to construction at Ned Dimes Marina, the Y’s Men clambake scheduled for Thursday, June 18, has been canceled. The Board hopes to reschedule the event for September and will share the new date once it is confirmed. In the meantime, refunds will be issued to all members who purchased tickets.

Thursday Morning Social Hour Continues at Compo Beach

Even though the guest speaker portion of Y's Men Thursday morning meetings has taken a hiatus until September, the social hour part continues with coffee, bagels and donuts from 9:00 to 10:00 am every Thursday. Unlike previous years, the gatherings will be at the Compo Beach Pavilion, not at Sherwood Island which is undergoing renovations.

Please plan to attend tomorrow.

If you don't have a parking permit, just tell the gate attendant that you are there for the Y's Men gathering.

Tick -Borne Illness and Other Summer Health Hazards

Here's a program that's a must as summer begins.

Ticks. Mosquitoes. Bee stings. Sunburns. Summer is full of opportunities to get outside — and a few hazards that come with it.

Join The Westport Library Medical Series this evening from 7:00 to 8:00 pm for a practical and engaging conversation on the health risks that accompany life outdoors in Connecticut.

Infectious disease specialist Dr. Zane Saul will discuss Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, while longtime Westport physician Y's Man Dr. Robert Altbaum will cover common summer concerns including insect bites, stings, sun exposure, and more.

Bring your questions and hear directly from experts about how to prevent, recognize, and respond to some of the most common summertime health issues.

A little knowledge can go a long way toward a healthier summer.
