LAST CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) is accepting nominations for the Cellular Therapy Initiative (CTI) and Physician Clinical Leadership Initiative (PCLI) steering committees till 5:00 pm Pacific time on Friday, October 30. This election cycle, AACI will select two new CTI Steering Committee members and three new PCLI Steering Committee members, with selected members beginning a three-year term in January 2027.

CTI Steering Committee

AACI's CTI provides a forum for cellular therapy leaders across AACI member cancer centers to share experiences, evaluate emerging issues, and develop best practices that support efficient and effective cellular therapy program operations. The initiative addresses areas including quality oversight and standardized approaches to care; patient access, engagement, and referrals; cellular therapy program operations; and collaboration with industry, professional societies, and other stakeholders.

Who should be nominated?

Nominees should be senior leaders who are closely involved in cellular therapy program operations at an AACI member cancer center. Eligible roles include assistant, associate, or full professor; chief medical officer; executive medical director; associate director for clinical affairs; administrative director, associate director, or assistant director of a cellular therapy program; or an equivalent leadership position.

What does the steering committee do?

Steering committee members help establish CTI priorities, identify emerging issues, guide projects and educational programming, develop resources and recommendations, and promote collaboration among cellular therapy leaders across AACI member centers.

Recent CTI work includes national benchmarking and research related to non-malignant immune effector cell clinical trials and good manufacturing practice facilities, cellular therapy referral initiatives, and educational programming addressing emerging operational challenges.

PCLI Steering Committee

PCLI provides a forum for cancer center clinical services leaders to collect, evaluate, and share best practices that promote efficient and effective clinical and quality care operations. The initiative addresses issues including quality oversight and standardized approaches to care; clinical operations and the effective use of technology and resources; financial management and reimbursement; and faculty career development.

Who should be nominated?

Nominees should be physician leaders who are closely involved in cancer clinical services, operations, and quality care at an AACI member cancer center. Nominees must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or DO and be in good standing as faculty or staff at their institution. Eligible roles include clinical faculty and physician leaders such as chief medical officer, executive medical director, associate director for clinical affairs, or an equivalent leadership position.

What does the steering committee do?

Steering committee members help establish PCLI priorities and goals, guide projects and educational programming, identify emerging issues affecting cancer center clinical leaders, and develop opportunities for AACI members to share experiences and best practices.

Recent PCLI work includes national research on cancer service line models and academic non-clinical time, initiatives focused on molecular tumor boards, leadership roundtables, and educational programming addressing issues facing cancer center physician leaders. Most recently, during the final day of the 2026 AACI/CCAF Annual Meeting in Chicago, the 14th Annual AACI PCLI Meeting explored decentralized clinical trials.

AACI members may submit nominations for the CTI and PCLI steering committees through a joint nomination form. The form may be completed multiple times to nominate more than one individual.
