Eden Prairie High School Students,
We have now had a chance to meet with each of you about the year ahead. We left each of our class meetings grateful for the opportunity to work with you and thrilled about what is to come.
We centered our class meetings in our aspiration of each student responding, “YES!” to our three driving questions--Do I belong here?, Is this Meaningful?, Can I do this?. We shared a few strategies for making this aspiration a reality--treating each other with kindness, affirming differences, and seeking multiple perspectives, stepping out of our comfort zones to try new things, and utilizing the team of educators dedicated to supporting you.
Another strategy shared was student voice, the topic of today’s letter. We think about student voice as listening to your ideas and learning your stories so that, together, we change the student experience at EPHS. Together, we’ve done this in multiple ways all over our school. This year, we’re expanding student voice opportunities even more. We hope each of you finds an avenue to bring your leadership forward to leave an impactful legacy at EPHS. We believe that authentic student voice is key to our success as a school.
So, we invite you to have a student voice leadership experience this year! Student voice opportunities may include attending meetings with staff members working on a specific topic, designing student surveys, being part of brainstorming sessions, and implementing changes. However, opportunities for collaboration are limitless and we want to hear about your ideas for what our partnership could look like.
Please complete this form by October 8 to indicate your interest!
