Resource Spotlight

Highlighting a few resources available in region 2.

WeeCycle

A Colorado Non-profit Distributing Baby Gear Across Our State

WeeCycle’s mission is to recycle essential baby gear and match it to Colorado families in need. And this month is Diaper Month at WeeCycle!

This September, we're reaching out to our community to help bring a truckload of diapers to Colorado infants and toddlers who need them.

With state diaper funding cut in half, we need our community to come together more than ever to make sure that Colorado babies have they diapers they need. That's why this September, we're working to fill a truckload of diapers - and we need your help. And we have an exciting way to kick off Diaper Month! The first 50,000 diapers purchased will be matched diaper for diaper, thanks to a generous donation from a Denver family. That means your diaper donation can have twice the impact and help us get a major boost toward our goal of filling a truckload for Colorado families.

Feedback needed from families working with NCHA to receive diapers: Please scan the QR code and take the survey, it will help better serve the community!

Resources

HCPF recently published an H.R. 1 Toolkit that includes flyers, half-sheet handouts, and suggested messaging for community partners. We've attached several of these resources for your use.

H.R. 1 Toolkit: hr1toolkit.healthfirstcolorado.gov

We're also encouraging members to update their contact information now so they're prepared when six-month renewals and community engagement requirements begin. Here is our NHP Update Your Contact Information (Spanish here) tip sheet, which we've been using at community events to help members proactively verify and update their information before these changes take effect.

NHP Staff Highlight: Director of Quality

Meet Sarah Stangebye

Sarah was raised in Montrose, Colorado, and has called the Montrose community home since she was two years old. Her father moved their family to Montrose after completing his medical residency to start a rural family practice; and Sarah's grandfather was also a rural physician. Sarah likes to think growing up hearing stories from both her dad and grandfather serving their communities inspired her passion for healthcare and the importance of quality care in rural areas.

By training, Sarah is a behavioral health provider and has spent more than a decade in both clinical and leadership roles, providing mental health services and leading programs focused on addiction treatment and criminal justice populations. Sarah completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in Texas, and says she was grateful to return home to raise her family with her husband; who also grew up in Montrose. Sarah and her family enjoy traveling and spending time together, and are an enthusiastic CrossFit family!

Fun Fact: Sarah is an avid concertgoer and tries to attend at least one stadium concert each year. This year, she saw AC/DC, and over the years she's seen the Red Hot Chili Peppers three times, in three different states.
