✈️ The Future of Flight & Autonomy in Washington

A Networking Event on Uncrewed Systems, Robotics & Advanced Air Mobility

Tuesday, January 27, 2026

Join us at WSDOT Headquarters for an engaging afternoon of networking, light snacks, and beverages as you connect with innovators, industry leaders, and public-sector partners shaping the future of uncrewed systems, robotics, and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).

Washington State is emerging as a national leader in preparing for the integration of electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) and other electric and hydrogen aircraft—and this event goes beyond aircraft talk to focus on real-world system planning.

Learn how AAM is being integrated into Washington’s multimodal transportation network through practical, on-the-ground efforts guided by the WSDOT AAM Aircraft Plan, developed under ESHB 1125.

Topics and discussions will explore the questions that determine success, including:

  •  Near-term timelines (2026–2030)
  • Upgrades to existing airports and heliports
  • Transit-adjacent vertiport concepts
  • Energy and charging needs
  • Evolving FAA vertiport standards
  • Community considerations such as safety and noise

This is a unique opportunity to:

  • Connect with AUVSI (Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International) members, industry experts, and public-sector leaders
  • Learn how autonomous and uncrewed technologies are being integrated into transportation systems today
  • Build new relationships and renew existing business and professional connections
  • Be part of conversations shaping the future of mobility in Washington and beyond

Registration is limited — reserve your spot today.

Guests are welcome, and all are encouraged to attend.

Spring Symposium

APRIL 22-23 2026

Pendleton, Oregon

Experience Pendleton, Oregon: A Hub for UAS Innovation

Spend a day and a half in Pendleton, Oregon, the home of one of the nation’s busiest FAA-approved Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) test sites. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with leaders, innovators, and influencers in the uncrewed and robotic industries.

Connect with Industry Leaders

Engage with a diverse group of participants, including end-users, entrepreneurs, startups, service companies, government officials, and academics. Following the tradition set last spring, we are pleased to announce our ongoing collaboration with the Oregon UAS Accelerator. Their involvement adds an exciting dimension to the event as finalists from the accelerator program present their breakthrough innovations.

Tech Showcase and Facility Expansion

On the 23rd, attend the Tech Showcase at the Pendleton UAS Range. Be part of the celebration as the range officially opens its newest hangar, Flex III, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This is an excellent chance to tour the state-of-the-art facility and witness firsthand how Pendleton is expanding its capacity to meet the future demands of UAS testing and development.

FCC Updates Covered List to Include Foreign UAS

and UAS Critical Components on Going Forward Basis

Review Fact Sheet

The FCC recently updated its "Covered List," effectively banning new foreign-made drones and critical components from getting U.S. approval, citing national security concerns, but exempted some, like those on the Blue UAS Cleared List or "domestic end products," until Jan 1, 2027, allowing continued market entry for these specific items, while existing, previously authorized drones (like current DJI models) remain unaffected and usable. The update, effective late 2025/early 2026, primarily blocks future foreign-made tech from new FCC certification, not existing operations, but has caused industry concern about innovation and reliance on foreign supply chains.
