Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist

Join us for the Organ Academy 2026 Recital. Our brilliant young organists have worked on new literature since January. Plus, they have put in overtime preparing at St. John's Cathedral in April! Note the photo montage later in this newsletter. The recital program is available for download and preview on the event webpage.

You will be amazed and given new hope for the future. These young people are loved and admired by their teachers and everyone who meets them! They are excited to share their newly-learned literature with you.

Help us spread the word via your social media and church bulletin boards. Downloadable image assets and printable posters are available at the bottom of the event webpage. Thank you for your help!

Bring your friends!

Dr. Geoffrey Boers from the University of Washington led the combined choirs of Eastern Washington University and Gonzaga University in three days of workshops and rehearsals, preparing for our April 19 performance. These enthusiastic and talented singers performed beautifully for an audience of 202 sacred music lovers. We look forward to our next collaboration!

Particularly notable was the virtuosic accompanying of Dr. Joseph Schubert. Hours were spent registering and preparing the difficult scores. Dr. Schubert took full advantage of every possible color of the organ. His masterful playing was thrilling and inspiring!

Thank you, Dr. Geoffrey Boers, Dr. Kristina Ploeger-Hekmatpanah, Dr. Meg Stohlmann, Dr. Jadrian Tarver, Esther Kelley, Helen Byrne, and choirs for making this amazing performance memorable, indeed!

Special thanks to the Chapter and staff of St. John's Cathedral for being wonderful hosts!

Organ Academy 2026
