Dear Friends,
October has given us plenty to smile about at Open Arms—including welcoming 17 new families to our family training weekend! That’s 17 families taking time to learn, ask questions, and prepare for what adoption may hold. We’re so glad to be part of their journey.
Training is an important step toward understanding the needs of children and building the skills to support them. We’re grateful to these families for showing up with open minds and a willingness to grow—and to our staff for the care and energy they bring to helping families prepare.
Now, with November just around the corner, we’re getting ready for National Adoption Month. It’s an opportunity to celebrate families, recognize the experiences of people whose lives have been touched by adoption, and keep attention on the children and teens still waiting for a permanent family. There is much to celebrate, and there is still work to do.
To kick things off, we’re hosting a Happy Hour on November 5 from 4:30–6:30 p.m., and we’d love to see you there! Come spend some time with the Open Arms community, enjoy good conversation, and help us welcome a month dedicated to a mission close to our hearts. Consider this your invitation to put down the to-do list for a little while and join us.
