A Letter From Bret Martin, CSA President regarding the Sea Pines Critical Needs Referendum
June 21, 2019

Dear Sea Pines Property Owner,

Today is the last day of voting for our critical needs referendum. Thank you all for participating in the referendum process and for bearing with all of the communications from CSA. We anticipate that our efforts will be rewarded with the largest turnout for a vote we’ve had in CSA’s history. As of today, over 3,700 ballots have been returned and we still have those last minute folks who will undoubtedly send theirs today! I'd like to take a moment to thank the volunteer members of the CSA Get Out The Vote Committee for dedicating hours of their personal time and for their outstanding efforts to support Sea Pines. Without their help, I'm sure we would not have achieved this record rate of voter turnout.

Our purpose in administering this referendum is to assure the validity of the vote in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. We have contracted with Elliott Davis, LLC. to provide that attestation. They in turn will administer the ballot count and submit a report in letter form outlining the procedures performed and their findings.

Due to the volume of the ballots received and the important nature of the results we anticipate a second count by Elliott Davis, LLC., once the initial count is completed to further validate the findings. We anticipate this process may not be complete until sometime in early July. Once the final results have been provided to us by Elliott Davis, LLC, we will announce them to you through our email system and then by mailed letter to our residential property owners.

Thank you again for your participation and have a great weekend!
Bret Martin
Sea Pines CSA, President
