Friends:
It's important to celebrate anniversaries. We will celebrate the 324th anniversary of the founding of Christ Church in
ONE SERVICE this Sunday at 10 a.m. It will be glorious and we give thanks for God's providence and blessings that will continue to guide us.
After the service, we have a festive, donuts-powered reception right in the church. You'll be able to take a video virtual tour of the steeple scaffolding and the restoration work underway. Afterwards, Tony Campolo is speaking at the Sages monthly luncheon, an event that the entire congregation is welcome to attend.
I first heard Tony in 1983, when I was a youth minister in San Pedro, CA. He galvanized me then, and has continued to do so over the years. I expect he'll make more sense about the intersection of faith and politics than most, as well as bring insight to the current events so much at play.
P.S. I meet with the City Special Events office on Tuesday regarding street closures. They have promised a solution to getting to Christ Church on Marathon Sunday, Nov. 24. I'll keep you posted.
