Demonstrations of GRATITUDE
Each week we focus on one of our seven community values. This morning we celebrated our community value of GRATITUDE by participants sharing how they experienced GRATITUDE this past week.
Gail: I’m GRATEFUL to be here this morning. Every week I'm online and I'm dancing in my kitchen, doing my push-ups off the counter to the band. I’m really GRATEFUL that this vision of a band became a reality. I’m also GRATEFUL to be celebrating this afternoon with one of my subcontractors who was detained by ICE in August and was released on Wednesday. He’s a little shell shocked, tired and a little bit skinnier, but home with his family in Frederick. Thank you for anybody that knew this story and held them in prayer. I know we hear it every week and it really is the quality of our belief that drives the train and I'm so incredibly grateful to have this knowledge alive in me. God is good every day in every way. I love you guys. My heart is just so full for so many reasons.
Amon: Last Friday, Joe and I drove up to New York City, first of all, to watch a play that had been directed by our daughter in her high school. There had been all kinds of difficulties going into this event and she said the first night was an absolute bomb. But the second night was just glorious. And the students were so encouraged and uplifted. And so I'm GRATEFUL that everything turned out okay. Then we got to bring her home with us and I'm grateful for that too.
Jami: I think this is my anniversary year and so I had to stand up and say thank you for being here because I remember that first time when I came in. It was just so beautiful and so warm and welcoming, and I can't believe how this has changed my life, how you have changed my life. Thank you!
Ginny: I hadn't planned on saying anything and yet sitting there I thought, "Oh my gosh." Many of you know that my husband Don was in a severe car crash on April 26th. Multiple injuries. His recovery has been absolutely, his doctors say miraculous; we know better. And I just want to say thank you to everyone here who signed a card, who sent a prayer, who sent treatment, who held him in your love. Last night he had one of his Earth Save events and he played and sang guitar, which six or seven months ago, we couldn't have imagined that he would have been doing this so soon. He's about 99 .9% back, y'all, so thank you so much.
Gabrielle: I'm so GRATEFUL for all of you. I have some pretty low moments in my life. I have severe depression and getting older and I was wondering why I haven't gotten closer spiritually to God and the universe. And the universe led me back here. And I am just so GRATEFUL for everyone here.
Rev. Frank: I'm just GRATEFUL for everybody here. I'm GRATEFUL for the love. I'm GRATEFUL for the support. I'm GRATEFUL for every single one of you. I love coming here on Sundays and getting hugs; I love those hugs. I just love everybody who shows up here and I just love giving back. Thank you so much for everything you are and everything you do.
I'm GRATEFUL that I’m going to have Thanksgiving tonight with my husband when he gets off of work since I’ll be away working on Thanksgiving Day. I'm GRATEFUL for Jamar, our new band member. I'm GRATEFUL for the fact that it looks like we need another row in the back. I'm grateful for new faces that I've never seen and I'm grateful for my beloved brother, Rev. Rafe, who just keeps me moving forward.
