January Life Seminar Report

For the January 2025 Tonari Gumi Life Seminar, we invited speakers from the Senior’s Health and Wellness Institute and a local bank’s Japanese-speaking financial advisors to host two seminars on retirement and managing finances in later years.

During the seminars, we learned about the effectiveness of wills, gifts made during one's lifetime, and differences between Canadian and Japanese tax systems. Additionally, we gained valuable insights from guest speakers' personal experiences on how to save money and maintain a stable income for a comfortable life after retirement.

The participants were highly engaged, asking numerous questions, and their focused attention was evident throughout the sessions. We look forward to continuing to provide such valuable topics to members.

1月のセミナー報告

2025年1月の隣組ライフセミナーには、退職後や老後の資金管理や上手な運用方法について学ぶため、Senior’s Health and Wellness Instituteとローカル銀行の日本語ファイナンス・アドバイザーの方々をお招きし、2回のセミナーを開催しました。

セミナーでは、遺言書の効力や生前贈与など、カナダの税制が日本と異なる点についても学ぶことができました。また、退職後に年金や

安定した収入を保ちながら快適に生活するための節約術について、ゲストスピーカーの実体験を通じて貴重な知識を得ることができました。

参加者の皆さんは非常に興味深く、たくさんの質問が飛び交い、真剣に聞き入っている姿が印象的でした。今後もこのような有益な情報を提供できる場を作っていきたいと思います。

Purpose: A Survey of the Nikkei Community in Canada

How can we pass on the life history and ethnic studies of Nikkei in Canada to the next generation?

Looking for: Pre-war immigrants, Nisei & Sansei, Post-war Immigrants, Immigrants of child-rearing generation
