Ordination to the Diaconate.png

Celebrate Sunday Mass at St. Alphonsus!

In this Sunday's Gospel Jesus promises his disciples that the Father will send an Advocate or intercessor who will remind the disciples of everything that Jesus taught them and bring them peace.

Jesus is preparing his disciples in advance for his absence so that they will continue to believe in him and not feel all alone after his return to the Father. After the initial excitement of his Easter appearances, Jesus will remain with his followers in a very different way throughout the centuries.

As our celebration of the Easter season continues, the liturgy reminds us that Jesus remains with us through the Holy Spirit, who teaches us everything we need to know, reminds us of all that Jesus taught, and brings us peace.

Michael's Ordination on Saturday/ Celebration Mass Sunday

Our seminarian Michael Mehringer's ordination to the Diaconate was delayed one week and will take place this Saturday, May 21 at Holy Name Cathedral.

Unfortunately since both our pastor Fr. Bauer and associate pastor Fr. Gorman will be at Holy Name with roles in the ordination, there will not be any priests to hear Confessions at St. Alphonsus this Saturday at 11 AM. We sincerely apologize as this was an unforeseen effect of the delay of the ordination. This underscores how important our future priests are to the life of the Church!

Deacon Michael's first times assisting and preaching as a Deacon will be here at St. Alphonsus this Sunday, May 22nd at the 9 AM and 5 PM Masses, with a reception on the Veranda after each of the Masses, graciously hosted by our parish Knights of Columbus council and YAM, respectively.

Daily prayer keeps you in good relationship with the LORD, and yourself.

Invite your friends/loved ones to Mass! Sunday Mass schedule in English is at 9 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM. Mass in Spanish is at 12:30 PM.

Monday May 30 is Memorial Day. Morning Mass will be at 9:00 AM this day rather than the usual 8:30 AM. The rectory office and AACA will be closed for the holiday.

Sunday June 19 is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Historically there has been a Eucharistic procession around the St. Alphonsus campus block. On this Sunday, the 11 AM Mass will be bilingual and there will not be a 12:30 Spanish Mass. Fellowship and refreshments will follow after the 11 AM Mass, provided by our Knights of Columbus council.
