Pastor Trudy's Message

Earthquakes and famines and wars, oh my! These texts predicting destruction and battles often stir in us...is this happening now? Are we at the end? The key is in the passage...Jesus says that their generation will not pass away until these things have taken place. These things are always happening somewhere, in every generation. Foundations and structures are shaken to make way for something new. So what do we do in these times? Jesus tells us clearly, 'stay awake!' Let's explore together this weekend.

Mighty God, we want to trust You in all things and we want to know everything that's going to happen exactly how it is going to happen. Help us to live in that tension. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I want to know why!!!

• Your charge to love our neighbors as ourselves includes every living thing in all Your vast creation. Fill us with such love for animals and plants that we cannot help but strive for the preservation of the ecosystems in which they thrive. We give thanks for the rain that nourishes the earth.
• Guide leaders around the world to act in love for all people, rather than serving the interests of a few. Give them a spirit of cooperation, that all nations might work together for the flourishing of the whole world.  You call all of us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.
• Walk with all those whose lives are diminished by pain, that they might know Your loving and healing presence, and find comfort, strength, and hope to endure, especially, Burens, Tullys, Adams, Linda, Vinnie, Casey, Mary, Jodeen, Erik and those we name in our hearts.

From now until Holy Week we will be running a Soup Bracket! We have 16 soups competing, with four facing off every week. This week we have...
