A Message from the Headmaster

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

Today we celebrated Friendship Day, and it was great! My part in the celebration was to share a story with each grade and introduce our friendship bench. In our K-1 assembly, I told an old fable from India about a stag, a crow, and a jackal. Second a third grades heard of the friendship of Damon and Pythias in ancient Greece, while fourth and fifth graders heard The House by the Side of the Road. It was truly a joy to share these beautiful pieces and to connect with our scholars through them. I got to experience a little of what our teachers experience daily as they share their beautifully prepared lessons.

At the grade level, our scholars wrote notes to each other, demonstrated gratitude, provided service, and engaged in seminar, among other activities. It was an elevated and lovely time of joy in learning. Within the western tradition, friendship holds a special place. Stories of devotion in friendship span from Achilles’ connection with Patroclus in the face of mortal combat to the more convivial farm where Wilbur met Fern and Charlotte. About half of the pages on Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics are dedicated to friendship. Thinkers both ancient and modern have understood that we cannot live in virtue while in isolation. We need each other. Please start your weekend well by taking some time to ask your child about his or her experience today.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott, Ed.D.

Headmaster

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find ALL school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
