As we head into the final lap of summer, if you're looking for an escape, the Hamptons are calling — that legendary stretch on Long Island’s South Fork known for its stunning beaches, charming towns, and laid-back luxury.

Whether you’re craving fresh seafood by the water, NYC level shopping and dining, or simply a peaceful escape from the city, the Hamptons offer all of that and more. It’s a place where casual East Coast charm meets refined style, making it the perfect summer destination to unwind, connect, and soak up that easy coastal vibe.

I recently spent some time exploring a handful of standout stays in Sag Harbor and Montauk, and below I'm sharing my honest thoughts on four favorites: Baron’s Cove, Montauk Yacht Club, The Cottages at Duryea’s, and Marram Montauk. Each has its own distinct personality and vibe—so here’s a quick rundown to help you find your perfect fit.

Baron's Cove - Sag Harbor

If you love classic, cozy New England charm with a little modern comfort, Baron’s Cove is a wonderful choice. It’s right in the heart of Sag Harbor, so you’re steps away from cute shops, great restaurants, and the harbor itself. The rooms feel warm and inviting — some with private patios or balconies. I love that it’s family- and dog-friendly, and the pool area with food and drinks is a sweet bonus after a day of exploring. The porch bar is perfect for sunset cocktails.

Baron's Cove will shuttle you to and from the beach and provide chairs, or if you prefer, they offer beach passes for your car — a huge plus when parking is impossible at the beach, unless you're a local. Plus, Baron's Cove is planning a full renovation next year, so expect a fresh new look soon.

Fun fact: next year the US Open will be at nearby Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. Rooms are already limited.

Montauk Yacht Club

This one’s for the full-on resort experience. It’s right on the water with marina access, and there’s a spa, tennis courts, pools — everything you're looking for. The rooms recently got a fresh update and feel bright and modern. It’s a bit quieter and more polished than some of the party spots in Montauk, which makes it great if you want luxury without the noise.

It’s not exactly steps from downtown Montauk, so you’ll need to drive or Uber if you want to dive into the nightlife or local restaurants. And it’s on the harbor (lake) side, not the beach side, which is something to keep in mind.

The Cottages at Duryea's - Montauk

These four brand-new cottages just opened this season, and they are the epitome of simple, thoughtful design. If you love clean lines, natural materials, and a fresh, modern vibe, you’ll feel right at home here. They’re all about ultimate comfort and privacy—perfect for unplugging and relaxing without distractions.

Perched right on Fort Pond Bay with unbeatable sunset views, these cottages offer a quiet, intimate escape. And you’re just steps from Duryea’s Lobster Deck, where you can indulge in some of the freshest seafood around. Pro tip: the famous lobster cob... worth it!

No big hotel buzz here—just pure peace and understated style.

Marram Montauk

For those who crave a modern, minimalist beach retreat, Marram delivers. It’s right on a gorgeous stretch of beach with direct ocean views and fire pits for cozy nights. The rooms are beautifully designed — calm earth tones and natural textures everywhere. The onsite restaurant, Il Buco al Mare, is fantastic, too.

This is not your typical luxury hotel: no TVs, no room service, and a very “zen” atmosphere. So if you want a more traditional hotel experience, this isn’t it. But if you’re after peace, design, and wellness vibes, Marram is a real gem.

In short, if you want New England charm and a central spot — go Baron’s Cove. For all the resort amenities in Montauk, try Montauk Yacht Club. Want a quiet, casual bay escape? Duryea’s Cottages. And if a serene, design-forward beachfront stay is your vibe, Marram is your place.
