Since my last writing and our last newsletter, we have had another amazing trip, while also planning for our 2026 ventures back to Kenya!
It is a labor of love to coordinate and implement all the DDI pieces of the puzzle! Nothing with people happens without the participation of other people! AND we are grateful for the people we have who surround us with donations, prayers, and actual work! There is always a need for more of all that, AND if you have the interest and capacity to, we invite you to the “MORE!”
A couple of the children we had large concerns about were removed from that situation, so now our prayer is that they are placed with a loving, stable family who will love them and take care of them the way that they deserve. We consider that a huge “WIN!”
There are also advocates working on behalf of another child in our network who needs a home; we believe that her situation will also change quickly; we are anxious to celebrate that when things turn around.
The children at our two new schools (Neema and Hekima) are enjoying their new daily porridge, and for that we and they are grateful to you who donate. Thank you!!!

One of our children had a bout of pneumonia; we were able to pay for her emergency medical aid. That is another benefit made available by those of you who financially contribute to Dorcas Destiny International!
The ability to create collaborations with organizations and ministries that can enhance what we offer our families has been meaningful and possible with the help of our Program Committee, Chaplain Marsh! Her time in Kenya is having a major impact on what we are now able to do.
As we plan our February 2026 mission trip, we extend another invitation for you to go with us to Kenya and leave your own fingerprints on our mission! If you are motivated, you have several months to fundraise and get your friends, coworkers, and family to help you go! If that is you, email, text, or call me! I can promise you that you will not be sorry you went with us.
We pray that you have everything you need, and that all your days are blessed! Thank you for partnering with us!
Love, hugs, and every good gift from above!

| | Mission in Progress: August 25 – September 6, 2025 | | |
From August 25–September 6, our team was on the ground in Kenya, serving with compassion and love. We ministered to widowed families, encouraged children in slums and villages, and shared God’s Word in both word and deed.
Highlights included the Greater Things Conference in Nairobi and Nakuru, evenings of prayer and worship in Kibera and Lucky Summer, and visits to schools like Hekima, Neema, and the Nazarene Orphanage. We also reached mothers and children at Langata Women’s Prison, providing supplies and reminding them of God’s unfailing love.
Beyond ministry, fellowship and moments in God’s creation—at Nakuru National Park, the Giraffe Centre, and the Elephant Orphanage—renewed our spirits and strengthened our bonds.
Thanks to your prayers and generosity, lives were touched, hope was ignited, and the love of Christ was made known in unforgettable ways.

| | Warmth, Comfort, and Joy for Hope for Orphans | | |
This month, Dorcas Destiny International had the privilege of visiting Hope for Orphans, where we were able to bring smiles, comfort, and renewed hope to the children.
For too long, the little ones had been sleeping on worn-out mattresses and old blankets. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide new mattresses and blankets, giving the children the gift of restful nights and the comfort they deserve.
But our visit didn’t stop there. The DDI team also donated clothing and spent time with the children, filling the day with laughter, games, and activities that reminded them how deeply they are loved and valued.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do—because every child deserves not only the basics of life but also joy, dignity, and the assurance that they are not forgotten.
Together, we are making a difference—one child, one need, and one act of love at a time

One of the most heartwarming highlights of our mission was visiting Hekima School and Neema School in the Baba Dogo slum. Despite tough circumstances, the children’s joy and eagerness to learn shone brightly.
We played games, shared art activities, and created a safe space where they could simply be children—laughing, smiling, and expressing themselves. Alongside the fun, we shared the gospel, offered mentorship, and reminded each child that they are loved and created with purpose. Meals were also served, filling both hearts and stomachs.
This visit was a powerful reminder of why we serve—to invest in the next generation and plant seeds of hope and faith that will grow far beyond the classroom.

A deeply moving part of our mission was our time at Nazarene Orphanage, where we saw God’s love at work in children facing immense challenges.
Miss Lyrice, a volunteer from the USA, led a retreat with the children, even cooking porridge for them—a simple act that became a beautiful expression of Christ’s love. Joy and laughter filled the day as our USA and Kenyan teams joined hands in prayer, mentorship, and fun activities. We also distributed supplies—shoes, clothes, sanitary towels, books, and more—reminding the children they are loved and not forgotten.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this possible. Your generosity brought smiles, restored dignity, and planted seeds of hope. But the work isn’t done—many children still need food, clothing, education, and spiritual support. We invite you to join us through giving, volunteering, or sharing the vision, so together we can continue transforming lives for Christ.
| | A Fun-Filled Day for St. Mary’s Children | | |
What a joyful day it was for the children of St. Mary’s! They enjoyed a Fun Day filled with laughter, games, swimming, bouncing castles, team competitions, and delicious treats—creating memories to last a lifetime.
For many, it was more than play; it was a chance to experience the simple joys of childhood, to feel celebrated, and to just be kids.
We’re grateful to everyone who made this possible. Together, we gave the children of St. Mary’s the gift of fun, laughter, and love.
| | Bringing Hope to Mothers and Children at Lang’ata Women’s Prison | | |
As part of our outreach, our team visited Lang’ata Women’s Prison, home to many mothers raising young children while serving their sentences. We shared God’s Word, reminding them of forgiveness, restoration, and hope in Christ. It was moving to see mothers and little ones lifted through worship and prayer.
We also donated sanitary towels, soap, tissue, and baby snacks—small acts of love showing these families they are not forgotten. Yet the needs remain great. Many mothers and children still lack essentials like:
- Sanitary towels
- Baby diapers & wipes
- Soap, tissue, & hygiene products
- Baby food & snacks
- Clothes for infants & toddlers
Every gift, big or small, makes a real difference. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope where it’s needed most.
