Training our Tremendous Teachers

On August 12th, Bridge invited a handful of new staff to campus for an intensive New Teacher Skill Bootcamp. This skills-based training equipped our rising educators with best practices to last all year long. Three days later, on August 13th, we welcomed back our full staff for orientation, beginning with a moving opening session titled “Stories of Growth.” During this session, Bridge veterans shared some of the most powerful academic and social-emotional gains from our scholars, incited by their one-of-a-kind Bridge Boston Education. “Stories of Growth” set the tone for our Staff Orientation: our educators are embarking on a new journey of empowering the next generation through education. 

Back to School BBQ

After our informative and inspiring Staff Orientation, it was time to welcome back our Jaguar Families! Our Student Support and Operations Team organized our joyful Back to School BBQ, including over 10 community partners. Families were greeted with everything from books and backpacks and school supplies giveaways, to smiling educators, to paperwork submissions, to BBQ dinner, and of course, a bouncy house. Our students loved seeing their old teachers, meeting their new ones, and witnessing the progress on our nearly complete playground!

First Day: Bridge welcomed our scholars back to school on Thursday, August 22nd.

Swimming! Bridge was a recipient of the City of Boston's Swim Safe grant, allowing us to partner with the Roxbury YMCA to provide swim lessons to our students! Over the course of the entire school year, 2 classes of K2 students will take beginner swimming lessons during the school day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Early Intervention: This year, our Bridge staff includes both a Math Interventionist and Literacy Interventionist to ensure every student is achieving their personalized academic goals. Know someone passionate about individualized education? Learn more about careers at Bridge.
