Fellow NAWIC Members -
With voting in full swing, this feels like an excellent time to discuss my process for voting at National Board meetings. Information is received in advance, so we all have a chance to review and process the proposals. My mode of functioning is to study the proposals, then run them through our Operations Manual, Mission Statement, Core Purpose, and Strategic Plan. My next filter is “Does this positively impact NAWIC as a whole?” At the Board meeting, all perspectives are discussed. My goal is to never make a decision without hearing and considering all sides. My stance is clear; what is best for NAWIC and our membership. Often, proposals are sent back to answer questions and may go through multiple revisions before a final vote occurs. There have been times when my vote has been to circulate the proposal to the membership; to me hearing the pros and cons helps determine my vote plus I want to hear what all of you think. We have had great input sent to the Board on proposals the last few years, both pros and cons. Our Board takes your input very seriously. We are members just like you!
Ballots went out May 15 from Association Voting. If you are an Active or Corporate Member and did not see your ballot, first check your junk email. If it is not there, then contact nawic@nawic.org for a replacement link. Each ballot is member specific and can only be used once. Please vote Raven Hoffman, CIT for President-Elect.
