From Peer to Leader: Help New Supervisors Start Strong | | | | |
Promoting a strong employee into a supervisory role can be an exciting step—for the employee and the organization. But being excellent at the work does not automatically prepare someone to lead the people doing it.
New supervisors must learn how to set expectations, give constructive feedback, address conflict, build trust and hold others accountable.
| | |
At the same time, they may be adjusting to a new relationship with colleagues who were recently their peers. Without the right preparation, even a talented and well-intentioned new leader can struggle to make that transition.
That is why the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with In2Great, offers Transitioning to Supervisor: Frontline Leadership Essentials. This two-day, in-person certificate program gives new and emerging supervisors practical tools they can use to lead with greater confidence and effectiveness.
