Check out this past month's happenings:
This month at Reseda Elementary, the Boys & Girls Club had the pleasure of hosting the Rams Football Clinic. This clinic focused on introducing the members to new skills and drills in relation to the sport but also to help empower them to feel confident to try new things. The members enjoyed the different stations they got to rotate through during the practice and the individual advice they got from the coaches as well. This experience was one of many our members got to be a part of this summer.
-Calabash Elementary-
This summer we surprised the members at Calabash with Kona Ice, the temperatures ranged from 90-102 and the members were very excited to share a sweet summer treat!
| |
-Justice St. Elementary-
At Justice St. Elementary, our STEM program was a big hit. Recently, the members learned about the phases of the moon in a super fun way—using Oreos! The kids twisted apart the cookies and shaped the cream to show each moon phase. They loved this tasty activity and had a great time learning, especially when they got to eat the Oreos afterward. It was a deliciously fun way to learn!

-Woodland Hills Elementary- | This summer we continued our partnership with the Girl Scouts. Coach Tyler led a five-week outdoor art session program with 20 participants every Friday, including members of other troops who wanted to participate in this unique experience. This program teaches the scouts how to create art using natural materials, encouraging creative expression and furthering a connection with nature. Beyond art, the program focuses on building a strong sense of community, where participants work together, share ideas, and support one another. Each session is a blend of creativity, collaboration, and outdoor adventure, fostering excitement and friendships among the scouts.
The Martial Arts Program at the Stanley Mosk Elementary Boys and Girls Club helps members unlock and discover their potential as responsible, confident, and mindful leaders. Students attend classes in groups of fifteen members at a time, they complete drills and work with partners under the guidance of a trained instructor. A’rai (pictured below) gained martial arts skills during summer camp, eventually graduating by breaking her first board!
-Gary M. Thomas Club House-
This month at the Gary M. Thomas Clubhouse, we hosted an exciting laser tag event. For two hours, we rotated twelve members at a time, each enjoying a 15-minute session. This laser tag event is a unique highlight in our programming, demonstrating how engaging activities can significantly impact personal development and social interaction within our Club.
-Teen Center-
Every Thursday with 12-15 members participating, the Club hosts a teen cooking program. The purpose of this program is for members to be introduced to healthy foods and meal prepping as well as making dishes with unique ingredients. Cooking allows the teen members to express creativity in a special and delicious way.

-Canoga Park High School-
| We wrapped up an amazing summer camp at Canoga Park High School this month! Our team served 82 unique high school youth, many incoming freshmen. This was a great opportunity for them and us, as it will make their first day of school, next week, less stressful and more fun. The last day of summer camp was full of LED mini golf where everyone got to play, connect, and make unforgettable memories. Thanks to everyone who joined us for an epic summer! | |

20 monthly donors at $10 will provide one afternoon of services for one kid every month.
-
20 monthly donors at $25 can help subsidize one kid's transportation to the Clubhouse for one day every month.
-
5 monthly donors at $42 provide supplies for one class offered to 20 kids every month.
-
5 monthly donors at $84 provide a STEM kit for one class of 20 kids monthly.
