Exercise your right to vote

"A VOTE is a kind of PRAYER about the kind of WORLD you want to live in."

The Rev. Raphael Warnock

Tuesday, November 3, is midterm Election Day. Early voting ends Sunday, November 1. If you received a mail-in ballot, you can drop it off at the Supervisor of Elections office on Starkey Road. It's a drive thru. There is also a dropbox at the Department of Motor Vehicles office on Gulf-to-Bay and Duncan Ave. as well as on Ulmerton Rd.

It is essential that each of us takes part in this democratic process.

Many poling locations changed this year. Verify your precinct before you go.

St. John's is a poling place, so the parish hall will not be open to others from Monday evening through Tuesday evening.

The Book of Common Prayer includes many prayers for National Life, including one for Elections on page 24.

Thanksgiving Dinners for Belcher Elementary Families

Again this year, St. Paul’s Lutheran and Hope Presbyterian churches will be joining St. John’s to provide Thanksgiving Dinners for thirty (30) families at Belcher Elementary School. Each congregation will be providing 10 meals.

The bags with the list of items will be available after the service on Sunday, November 1.. The meals are designed to feed a family of 6 to 8. St. John’s will be providing a $25.00 Walmart Gift Card for our 10 families to purchase a turkey and other perishable items.

The bags need to be returned by Sunday November 15 th so they can be delivered to Belcher Elementary on November 16. .

Please contact Diane Pfaus, 314-809-4247, if you have any questions.

We are in need of a Fellowship chairperson to help organize and oversee the details of fellowship dinners and other events. Please speak to Rev. Alicia or any Vestry member if you are interested.

Prevent Mosquito borne illnesses - Dump Standing Water

Pinellas County is experiencing an increase in Dengue cases and West Nile activity. Both viruses are transmitted by mosquitoes. Please take immediate action by dumping any standing water, dressing in light-colored, long-sleeved shirts and pants with closed-toe shoes, and defending yourself with an EPA-registered bug spray. Pinellas County Mosquito Control crews are knocking on doors in many neighborhoods to help residents. Please allow them to help find potential problem areas. For more information, visit Pinellas.gov/mosquito

Hurricane Preparedness

Pinellas County now has an app that can be downloaded to your phone or computer which put all storm information such as zones, shelters, emergency response, and more at your finger tips. It can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play
