Happy Father's Day!

This Father’s Day, we celebrate the strength, guidance, and unwavering love of fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers and all those who step into fatherly roles. We are deeply grateful for the countless ways they lead, protect, teach, and inspire. Whether it's life, health, or retirement, dads often take the lead in planning for the unexpected to ensure their loved ones are safe and secure. It’s a quiet but powerful act of love and responsibility. As we honor fathers, let’s also acknowledge the thoughtful steps they take - like securing insurance - to provide peace of mind and build a strong foundation for generations to come. Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads and father figures who make our lives richer and more meaningful!

Hurricane Season

If you are a Florida resident, you may be aware that Hurricane season begins June 1st. Along with your checklist of preparations, you’ll want to locate, protect and review your important paperwork. These documents should include all insurance policies with policy numbers and benefit summaries.  You’ll also want to make sure you have easy access to Health insurance cards, accident policy documents and any pertinent plan information. This may also be a good time to beneficiary details for all of your insurance policies, including your life insurance. If your policy information or beneficiaries are not current, please contact your agent or our office for assistance and we’ll be happy to help update your information.

For Business Owners- A disaster of any size could have a significant impact on your business. Taking the steps to build a business disaster continuity plan and encouraging employees to create a family emergency plan can reduce the impact on your business, along with the stress and anxiety that occur as a storm approaches. It is important to consider how a disaster could affect your employees, customers and workplace. How would you manage your business if access to the workplace is limited by road closures, streets are impassable, or communication is limited?

During a disaster, safety becomes a primary concern for everyone as a storm approaches. Businesses are encouraged to review their Business Continuity Plan and confirm employees are all aware of the plan and their responsibilities. It is important to monitor relevant emergency management news for weather and safety updates. In case an evacuation is ordered, businesses owners should secure their businesses and follow instructions by local emergency management on evacuation orders. Remember, if your local emergency management officials order an evacuation and you make a decision to remain in your business, emergency responders will not be able to respond to you during the disaster. You, and your employees, will be on your own at possibly at risk until the storm passes and first responders are able to secure the area.

Retirement Annuity Laddering Strategies Benefits

Retirement income planning can be exciting but a daunting journey as you plan for your financial future.  Annuity laddering is a simple concept that can be easily understood and put into action effectively. Quite simply, it involves breaking up one significant investment into smaller, staggered parts that provide income and flexibility, reducing reinvestment risk, and creating built-in checkpoints along your retirement journey.

Every successful laddering strategy starts with your timeline to map out three basic phases:

1. Short-term needs

2. Mid-term stability

3. Long-term security

With future health care costs becoming a concern, it may be wise to design the initial ladder rungs with greater liquidity and build in long-term growth through the later stages. And be sure and schedule built-in review times with your agent to discuss and decide when you should start taking an income or defer again. You have control over your timeline and scheduled reviews create touchpoints to revisit your financial strategy.

The best part about staggered income activation or annuitization is that it is often described as a "retirement pay raise plan." This helps to combat inflation without relying on Social Security COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) riders. When new rungs of the ladder kick in - such as at ages 70, 75 and 80 - those added income streams can act like pay raises precisely when you need them.

Laddering is about structuring income to match real life - income that starts when needed, grows with flexibility, and gives the confidence to adjust, adapt and stay on track. It's a strategy that provides long-term financial security and peace of mind. If you’d like to discuss your retirement options, please contact our office and one of our retirement specialists will be glad to assist you.

Around the Town: Medicare Team

Part of our Elite Medicare team was excited to meet with a client and business owner and deliver a Medicare 101 presentation to their Medicare eligible employees.

These presentations provide clear information in regards to Social Security, Medicare, enrollment guidelines, assistance and benefits. We had a great Q & A time and look forward to working with those transitioning into Medicare and being their trusted advisor and agent during this process.

If you’d like us to present to your group or organization, please contact our office.
