LaSalle Awarded Grant from

Governor Kathy Hochul to Establish

Youth Safe Space

LaSalle was honored to be one of four nonprofit organizations selected across NYS to receive funding through Governor Kathy Hochul’s $7.5 million statewide investment in Youth Safe Spaces. This initiative is aimed at addressing the growing behavioral health needs of teens and young adults. Administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health, these peer-led, non-clinical programs will serve youth ages 12–24 by providing inclusive, community-based spaces that promote connection, reduce isolation, and offer access to supportive resources.

LaSalle’s Youth Safe Space is scheduled to open in September 2026.

LaSalle Unveils Time Capsule and

New Dorm Names

As part of our celebration of LaSalle’s 170th year, we sought meaningful ways to not only honor our history, but to recommit ourselves to the Lasallian values that continue to guide our community.

In September, Lasallians joined together to open a time capsule sealed 30 years ago. Students and staff gathered to reflect on the artifacts inside, snapshots of campus life, traditions, and hopes from those who came before us. Together, they worked side by side to reseal the capsule, thoughtfully selecting new items that capture life at LaSalle today and the values that continue to shape our daily experience.

It is our hope that this tradition of reflection and renewal will continue when LaSalle opens the next time capsule at the 200th anniversary celebration in 2054, a future moment when another generation will pause, remember, and carry our Lasallian mission forward.

Another moment to celebrate our 170th year, brought our entire school community together in the thoughtful process of renaming our residence halls. Staff members contributed more than three dozen name suggestions, each reflecting the spirit, mission, and sense of belonging that define what it means to be Lasallian. These ideas were then shared with our Trustee and Foundation Boards, who carefully considered and voted on the submissions. Through this collaborative and values-centered process, three names rose to the top—Haven, Beacon, and Summit—each symbolizing safety, guidance, and growth, and serving as a lasting reminder of who we are and who we strive to be.

Holiday Season at LaSalle

The holiday season at LaSalle is a heartfelt reminder of the strength, compassion, and generosity that define our community. Our celebrations begin at Thanksgiving, when the Lasallian Brothers from CBA graciously donate turkeys and grocery gift cards to families in need, helping ensure that every home is filled with warmth, care, and dignity.

This spirit of togetherness continues with our Thanksgiving dinner, where students and staff gather around the table to share a meal and reflect in gratitude as one LaSalle family. As the season turns to Christmas, the outpouring of kindness is truly inspiring. Support from Paesans’ Pizza for hosting a Dine to Donate on #GivingTuesday, B. Lodges’ annual Shop to Donate, M&T Bank and The Shop’s holiday wish list trees that provided gifts to our residential students, Pastor Charlie’s Christmas Eve donation of Nike sneakers, and the many generous donors who purchased gifts through our Amazon Holiday Wish List.

Each thoughtful act, whether large or small, helps create joyful holidays for our students and serves as a powerful reminder that they are deeply cared for, supported, and never alone. LaSalle School thanks everyone for their generosity this holiday season!
