For the Life of the World: Worship
Psalm 84:1–7
This Sunday begins a new sermon series, For the Life of the World, exploring the question: What is the church for? We begin with worship, drawing on Psalm 84 and the image of the sparrow finding a home. What brings us here? What happens when we gather? And how might worship shape the way we see and live in the world? The Chancel Choir returns, and the Arts Camp Singers will reprise a song from their summer musical, The Big Fish.

Women's Retreat, Sacred Time:
Finding God in the Seasons of the Soul
Fri to Sun, 10/23-10/25 | Highlands Retreat Center – Register Today!
| Step away from the usual routine and make space to rest, reconnect, and be renewed. Surrounded by the beauty of the mountains in autumn, this women's retreat invites you to breathe deeply, linger in conversation, make art (without pressure), worship together, and deepen friendships, both old and new. Inspired by the rhythms of the Christian year, together we'll explore practices that cultivate resilient faith: waiting with hope, living with wonder, embracing renewal, receiving God's gift of rest, finding joy that dances even in the darkness, and discovering God's presence in the ordinary days of our lives. We'll begin with dinner Friday evening and conclude Sunday morning after worship. A Saturday-only option is available. | | | | Thank You for Your Generosity! | The LGBTQ+ and Allies Ministry, the Mental Health Ministry (MHM), and the Board of Missions and Justice in Action (MJA) would like to thank all of you who donated to our Christmas in August Fundraiser for our Community Partner: RISE Against Suicide. Together we raised $3,744.88 which will help RISE in their mission to help youth at risk of suicide by removing the financial and social barriers to treatment, enabling them to find hope and healing. Thank you! | | | | In Sunday’s Daily Camera, the Opinion Editor explored the proposed hotel at the Spruce Street parking lot and interviewed Chris BB about the role First Congregational Church plays in the life of downtown Boulder. Our church is more than a building. It is community infrastructure, a gathering place, and a home to ministries and organizations that serve our neighbors. Read the editorial and join the conversation about Boulder’s future. | | | | |
