We had a nice turnout for my Talking Pictures photo lecture at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Hyannis. The Cape Cod Military Museum did not get any of the gate, but we were promised the e-mails of those that attended to add to our newsletter email list. So the talk was good exposure.
One of the photos in the lecture is of a soldier standing next to his car.
I ran the picture through ChatGPT. Chat colorized and sharpened the photo for me. We happened to have a 1/18th scale 1940s car of a similar style. I have used a company called JuJu Bit to make 3-D printed figures before. I sent the photo in and asked for a 10cm figure. The figurine looked great...but did not exactly match the car in order to recreate the WWII image. The figure is 3-D printed in colored plastics not painted. I had to make modifications to the figure to make it fit the car. I attached wire between the amputated leg and arm then filled it in with two part epoxy putty. I will need to sand, add filler and then primer and paint the entire figure. It will be an interesting item on the display table we put out at Talking Pictures lecture. I believe he cost $145.00 plus shipping.
I think you could do the same thing with a good photo of your dog. If you have the ability to take a 3-D photo it would help the 3-D printing out. If anyone has had a 3-D figure made of your dog, send me pictures. I would like to see how they came out! I had made a figurine of Stubby in the past. All that time and talent can now be done with just a click. The world is changing. Not all for the good but not all for the bad either::)
