Inspiring Adventures

Due to last weeks closures and delays, below is the schedule for Inspiring Adventures (slight adjustment in the order of teams). Also, as a reminder, students will be taking the IAAT (Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test) the morning prior to their Inspiring Adventures activities. The data from this test will help determine math placement for your child in 7th grade. Those who qualify for Pre-Algebra math will be notified via parent email. That group will then be invited to test in March for acceleration in science next year.

Monday: Team Challenge

Tuesday: Team Engage

Wednesday: Team Inspire

Friday: Team Prepare

7th Grade Scheduling- Upcoming Parent Meeting

Junior High counselors will meet with 6th grade students on Thursday, Feb. 5 to introduce the scheduling process and class options for 7th grade.

Then, on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:00, there will be a 6th grade parent meeting at the JH. During this meeting, the JH counselors will present information about scheduling for 7th grade. After the presentation, counselors and other staff will be available to answer questions and help parents walk through the process for selecting Elective courses.

Student scheduling forms will be due to their social studies teachers by Wednesday, Feb. 18.

All scheduling information is available on the JH Counselor website.

News from the Fox Den

After Inspiring Adventures, Mrs. Fox will meet with the students to discuss the topic of integrity. During the lesson, the students will dissect the following quote from Brene' Brown:

"Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them."

Mrs. Fox will also help students understand the benefits of having integrity.

- People trust us.

- We can positively influence others.

- We feel peaceful because we have a clear conscience.

- We feel confident because we have nothing to hide.

Lastly, the students will complete an Integrity Self-assessment. They will rate themselves on the following questions. Talk with your child about their results.

1. Do I avoid gossip?

2. Do I avoid inappropriate jokes?

3. Do I avoid using profanity?

4. Am I truthful?

5. Am I dependable?

6. Am I being who I say I am?

7. Do I do the right thing even when no one is looking?

Yearbook Sales

Yearbooks are now available to preorder. Purchase your yearbook HERE to ensure your child receives a 2025-26 yearbook.

Morning Drop Off

To help maximize the limited drop off space we have, please ensure you are pulling all the way to the end of the drop off zone (near the entrance of the SI parking lot) when dropping your student off in the mornings. For some, this may require you to drive past cars sitting in the drop off zone to utilize empty space.

School Closure Information

We hope you enjoyed a safe snow day on Tuesday! As we prepare for more winter weather in the days and weeks ahead, we want to remind you that information about school delays and closures can be found on our website.

When school is canceled because of weather, after school athletic events and other activities will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on many factors, including the condition and safety of school roads, parking lots, and sidewalks.

In order to give crews time to work on clearing affected areas, district decisions about these events will generally be communicated by 1 p.m. via email, text, and social media. In many cases, coaches/organizers will contact individual teams/groups with updates.

Homework Help

When picking your child up from homework help, you will park in the front of the building and wait for your child to come out at 3:30, adults do not need to come into the building to pick up their child. Please ensure our child has a ride at 3:30pm if they are staying for homework help.

Students can use homework help as needed. Sign up is not required.
