Calhoun County Treasurer Melinda Weaver Receives National Service Award from Association of Public Treasurers

Calhoun County Treasurer Melinda Weaver has been recognized with the Service Award from the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada (APT US&C), a national honor celebrating her outstanding commitment to the treasury profession and her voluntary contributions to the advancement of public finance.

The award was presented during APT US&C’s annual conference this month. The organization’s Service Award program honors individuals whose dedication, leadership, and service further the purposes of the Association and reflect a deep commitment to excellence.

According to the APT US&C website, “the success of the Association depends upon the participation of its individual members and their commitment to excellence and motivation to carry out the purposes of the Association. This award encourages and recognizes outstanding voluntary participation and achievement of members in furthering the Association’s mission.”

Weaver was appointed Calhoun County Treasurer in May of 2025, after 11 years of service within the Treasurer’s Office in various roles including Chief Deputy Treasurer. Her extensive experience and passion for public service have earned her respect across the county and among her professional peers nationwide.

“This national recognition is a testament to Melinda’s dedication not only to Calhoun County but also to the broader treasury community,” said Calhoun County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Derek King.

The Calhoun County Board of Commissioners and Administration congratulate Treasurer Weaver on this well-deserved recognition and thank her for her continued service to the residents of Calhoun County.
