The EFAA—Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021—was a federal law enacted to give aggrieved employees who signed arbitration agreements the ability to void those agreements and take their claims to court. A recent appellate court case reviewing a myriad of claims brought by a former employee who’s signed an arbitration agreement for employment-related disputes said that the EFAA voids the agreement with respect to all claims, not merely those for sexual harassment. The employee had sued for wrongful termination and deprivation of stock options as well as ongoing sexual harassment, so now all of her claims can be heard in court. #IdeaoftheDay
