Greenwood Drive Reconstruction Project Update

Work Continues along Greenwood Drive Between Club Course Drive and Governors Road

  • Permanent line striping has been tentatively scheduled to begin next week, weather permitting.
  • Landscaping improvements along Greenwood Drive have begun. Irrigation is currently being installed, sod, new plant material and mulch will follow. We do not expect any delays or lane closures. This work will take approximately 8 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
  • Raised roadway reflector installation (following permanent line striping)
  • Stamping of the crosswalk connecting the leisure trail from Lot 3 to the Forest Preserve parking lot is scheduled for completion next week.

Phase 2 of Greenwood Drive Reconstruction Project Deferred To a Future Date

The area from Governors Road to Plantation Drive is in need of infrastructure repairs which include:
  • Drainage and road improvements
  • Stabilizing the road bed
  • Reconstructing a portion of the leisure trail
  • Installing new pedestrian and vehicular guardrails

CSA has considered many factors such as project start time/length and the impact on traffic, weather (cooler temperatures), as well as project material and contractor availability. Due to these factors, we will not be able to begin construction in early January and completion of Phase 2 by the end of February, therefore, this project will be scheduled for a future date.

CSA will continue to work with our staff and engineers to determine when we can move forward with this portion of the project and complete these necessary infrastructure repairs. We will keep you updated as plans are determined.

Deer Island Bridge In Need of Infrastructure Repairs
  • The Deer Island Bridge that services the Deer Island Community is in need of infrastructure repairs.
  • Our contractor is expected to begin mobilization on Monday, January 14, 2019. Equipment and materials will be dropped off and staged near the work zone. Delivery of timber bridge pilings (40 feet long) is expected on Thursday of next week. Construction is set to begin the week of the 21st with Phase 1 of bridge repairs, weather permitting.

For questions regarding these projects, please contact the Sea Pines CSA Maintenance Department by calling 843.671.7849 or by email at csamaintenance@csaseapines.com .
