What to Expect Next Week - Starting Monday, April 20
Dear Residents,
We would like to inform you that road milling and paving work will be taking place in the village beginning next week. Our contractor, Tilcon, has given us notice that they will begin on Monday, April 20 for milling and paving will follow in the next week starting Monday, April 27. Both milling and paving are expected to last two days for each process. This important project is part of our ongoing effort to improve road conditions, enhance safety, and extend the lifespan of our infrastructure.
What to Expect
During this process, crews will first mill (remove) the top layer of the existing roadway, followed by paving a new, smooth asphalt surface. While this work brings long-term benefits, there are a few temporary inconveniences to be aware of:
- Noise and Vibration: Milling and paving equipment can be loud and may cause minor vibrations during working hours.
- Traffic Delays: There may be temporary lane closures, detours, or brief delays. Please allow extra travel time when possible.
- Restricted Parking: On-street parking may be limited or unavailable on certain days to allow crews full access to the roadway. Please use the parking lots!
- Uneven Surfaces: After milling, roads may be rough or uneven until paving is completed. Please drive cautiously.
The Benefits
While we understand these disruptions can be inconvenient, the end result will bring meaningful improvements for everyone:
- Smoother, Safer Roads: Newly paved streets improve driving conditions for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.
- Reduced Vehicle Wear and Tear: A smoother surface means less strain on tires and suspension.
- Enhanced Appearance: Fresh pavement improves the overall look and feel of our community.
- Long-Term Cost Savings: Preventative maintenance like this helps avoid more extensive and costly repairs in the future.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this necessary work. Our goal is to minimize disruptions while delivering lasting improvements that benefit the entire community.
