One important goal of the Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation is to provide teachers with every opportunity possible to attend our program. If you want to join us this summer but finances are an issue, here are several possibilities for you to consider. If you need any help or more information on any of the funding plans below, please feel free to contact the TAA office via email (taa@tnartsacademy.org) or phone (615-988-6250).


And remember - we are happy to take credit card payments, and we also have payment installment plans. We are glad to work with you in any way we can to get you enrolled in the TAA Summer Institute!


**As a reminder, you must first apply to the TAA Summer Institute, and fill out the online forms in the acceptance letter before submitting TAA scholarship materials.

YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

The majority of our applicants secure funding through their local school district, many of whom pay some or all of the registration and housing fees for their teachers. Check first with your principal or district supervisor to see if this option might work for you. Tell them how much this opportunity means to you!!

COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation has chosen the Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation to be one of its valued grant partners again this year. Scholarships vary and may include partial TAA tuition, full TAA tuition ($489), and/or on-campus housing costs for full-time K-12 music educatorsApplicants are encouraged to act quickly in order to secure scholarship funding. Apply as soon as possible to increase your chances of receiving funding! The application deadline is May 1, 2025.

THEATRICAL RIGHTS WORLDWIDE THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP

Leading performance rights licensing company Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) will provide one full theatre tuition scholarship (includes registration fee, and will also include on-campus housing if needed) to this year's Summer Institute week. The scholarship is open to any registered TAA participant who is in any level of the theatre track (elementary or secondary). The application deadline is March 21, 2025.

DOROTHY M. GILLESPIE

VISUAL ART SCHOLARSHIP

The Dorothy M. Gillespie Visual Art Scholarship will be awarded to one female, visual art teacher who is a first-time TAA Summer Institute attendee. The scholarship includes full tuition, on-campus housing, and a $150 stipend to cover travel expenses and meals not provided during the Academy week. The application deadline is March 21, 2025.

TAA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation has established a scholarship fund to help qualified participants with financial aid. While the scholarship committee gives preference to first-time attendees currently teaching in the state of Tennessee, we encourage any applicant in need of assistance to submit a scholarship application.

OTHER CREATIVE OPTIONS

Previous TAA attendees have had much success paying for their fees with help from their PTAs, booster clubs, arts councils, churches, businesses, and/or other service organizations (Rotary, Junior League, etc.). Get creative! Applicants have often been surprised by the generosity of others, and all they had to do was ask. What You Need To Know

WHO, WHEN AND WHERE: The Tennessee Arts Academy Summer Institute will be held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) on July 13-18, 2025. The Academy is designed for K-12 arts specialists, elementary classroom teachers, librarians, pre-service college education majors, and school administrators.


WHAT: Intensive discipline-specific training, nationally renowned speakers and performers, unique interdisciplinary workshops, and a host of fun and festive special events are all part of the TAA Summer Institute schedule.


FEES: The registration fee is only $489.00. On-campus housing is available for a nominal additional fee.


REGISTRATION INFO: Click here to apply for the 2025 TAA Summer Institute. Early Registration is available through March 1, 2025. During early registration, all qualified applicants are accepted. First-time applicants receive priority acceptance. Regular registration begins on March 2, 2025 and continues through the end of June or until classes have been filled.
