Greetings Families,
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! To celebrate and learn more about AAPI heritage check out this resource from the National Archives! There's a whole section meant for teachers organized by topic that could include some great homeschooling (and work samples!).
We want to hear from families about their experience at Da Vinci Connect this school year! We value your feedback, and ask that you take a few minutes of your time to complete our Parent Survey HERE. We read all survey entries thoughtfully and consider ideas in our decision making!
Finally, we want to thank each and every one of you for the many ways you helped our staff feel appreciated this week! Each flower, special card and note, gift and treat warmed our hearts (and our bellies!). We are so grateful to be in community with all of you. Thank You!

Parent Educator Appreciation!
Teacher appreciation is also for all the amazing homeschool work each of you provides for your kids! With appreciation and gratitude, please join us Tuesday 5/10, and Thursday 5/12 at drop-off, 8:40am - 10am, for a hosted coffee and tea bar. Stick around and mingle or grab and go! Thank you for all you do!

Parent Volunteers Needed!
We are in need of a parent volunteer to support us with our Lost and Found! If you are able to gather Lost and Found Items, clean them, and donate them to a charity in need, we want to hear from you!
We are also looking for a hand parent who would be interested in building and facilitating a small construction job for us! We are hoping to transform a new surprise space for students for next year, and need some help!

STEAM Carnival Thank you and NEW Opportunity with SWE for 3rd-6th graders!
5/13 from 9:30-2:30pm
We are sending a great big note of thanks again, to our STEAM Carnival Committee, participants, families, and special guests: Boeing, Millennium Systems, and our very own Da Vinci Science SWE (Society of Women Engineers) Student Club members for all the support to make our 4th Annual Rhythm Event of 2021-22 a success!
As an extension of that great energy and fun, please see the invitation below from our SWE Club friends.
Also, Jamie Taube is looking for a few parents to help assist with lunch service. "We would love parent volunteers to help serve lunch. We will be ordering Costco pizza and it would be helpful to have 3 parents to serve lunch and help supervise the lunch area while our high school students are cleaning up/prepping for the engineering stations. Lunch will be in the West Plaza from 11:35-12:20pm so if volunteers are able to arrive at 11:20, that would be great."

Yearbook Update!
This is the last reminder to purchase your 2021-2022 Connect Yearbook at this low price and free shipping!
The yearbook store will be closing Sunday, May 8th @ 12pm noon, so that I can submit our yearbook for publication!
Please make sure to have the following completed before Sunday, May 8th @ 12pm noon:
- Purchased your yearbook and received email confirmation from Picaboo
- Completed your personalized pages if you purchased them (first 4 pages for $5.00)
- Click "Submit" so that your personalized pages will print
I'm sorry, but we cannot give any refunds for personalized pages purchased if you didn't finish designing your pages before the deadline. This deadline is absolute and will not be extended.
The yearbook store will open again on Monday, May 9th for single purchases and shipping to your home at an increased rate set by Picaboo. So, if you are stressing out, no worries! You'll still have an opportunity to purchase the yearbook after it has been sent to the printers.

Daily Read A Louds with Julia!

Our amazing and talented teacher Julia will offer a read aloud activity every weekday (M-F) from 3:00-3:30! Reading selections will include classic picture books, guaranteed to bring joy to all our TK-8th grade students. Feel free to join her at her zoom link for this wonderful way to end a school day!

The Family Action Network would you like to invite you, as our very special guests, to participate in the Read Aloud activity with Juila on Wednesdays! Whether you are a family elder, grandparent, great aunt, or uncle, we would love to share this unique experience with you. We've been looking for more ways to see your faces and hear your voices, and this is a perfect way to do both! We welcome book suggestions from your personal library, that would be fitting to our audience of Tk-8th grade students!
