A note from our Executive Director

It's hard to believe we're already through the first quarter of the school year! We've been busy at the Amphi Foundation, and I'm excited to share just a few of the ways we've been supporting students and educators across the district.

One of my favorite things about the Foundation is the variety of ways we get to make a difference. Whether it's helping a new teacher set up their very first classroom, providing supplies to a school health office, or making sure a student has clothing and shoes they feel good wearing to school, it all comes back to the same goal: ensuring our students have what they need to be successful.

Here's a look at what we've been up to this first quarter:

  • Hands-On STEAM Learning: Every school received $500–$1,000 to support engaging, hands-on learning opportunities.
  • New Teacher Start-Up Grants: Every brand-new teacher received $250 to help get their classrooms up and running.
  • Student Health & Hygiene: We provide hygiene supplies to every school health office, helping students feel comfortable and ready to learn.
  • Positive School Culture: Every school received $500 in PBIS funding to support positive behavior and welcoming school environments.
  • Healthy Snacks: We delivered healthy snacks to every school to help keep students fueled throughout the day.
  • Clothing Bank: Thanks to our incredible volunteers, 614 students have already received clothing, shoes, and school supplies this year!

And this is just a snapshot of what we've been doing!

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors, community partners, and volunteers. Thank you for continuing to show up for Amphi students and educators. We're off to a great start, and I'm looking forward to all that we'll accomplish together this school year!

With Gratitude,

Introducing our Community Partners Program!

Strong schools make our community stronger. The Amphi Foundation's new Community Partners Program gives local businesses and organizations a meaningful way to invest in Amphi students and educators throughout the year.

With four partnership levels, there's an opportunity for organizations of different sizes to get involved. Partners receive year-round recognition, community engagement opportunities, and benefits at our Annual Fundraising Gala.

Could your business be our next Community Partner?

Great things are happening in Amphi classrooms!

In the first quarter, the Amphi Foundation invested $27,000 in 21 educator-led projects across 16 schools and programs, plus 7 service projects that support our students and school communities. We're proud to provide this funding through our Educator Grants initiative.

Here are just a few examples of what we helped make possible:

  • Building and Creating at Rio Vista: Students will use ChompSaws to bring their cardboard engineering projects to life.
  • Connecting Families at Coronado: Funding is supporting an AVID Family Night that brings families together around student success.
  • Physics in Action at Ironwood Ridge: Students are applying physics concepts like forces, motion, and energy as they build bicycles that will be donated to students in need.

Congrats to these schools and programs:

Annual Food Drive

Our annual Food Drive is an opportunity for students to learn the importance of giving back. Students at many schools across the district run donation drives, then high school students come together to sort those donations and pack personalized food boxes for families in need. This initiative helps students practice empathy and teamwork, and learn the importance of giving back.

You can be part of the tradition by bringing nonperishable food donations or grocery store gift cards to the Wetmore District Offices at 701 W. Wetmore Rd, Tucson or to your local participating Amphi school.

Every donation helps make a difference for an Amphi family this holiday season!
