EquippingU Dynamic Influence

EquippingU Dynamic Influence is a two-year training track that began in 2022 for pastors and leaders of Alliance churches with attendance of 200 people or fewer. Participants meet online for four two-hour sessions each year. The trainings cover timely topics, including how small churches can grow during a pandemic. Our goal is to help pastors in small churches find resources, lead well, and help their churches thrive.

The fourth and final webinar of 2023 starts on November 29, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

In this webinar, Karl Vaters, the small church guru, will present on de-sizing the church. After his presentation, there will be a Q&A session for the participants to interact with the presenter.

We have an unhealthy relationship with “bigness” in the church—especially in the American church. And it’s killing us. The rate of church closures, departing members, and pastoral burnout is growing exponentially.

Karl will talk about how we became so obsessed with size in the church, why it’s dangerous, and what we can do to change course. (This is all new information, based on Karl's upcoming book, De-sizing the Church: How Church Growth Became a Science, Then an Obsession, and What's Next, coming April 2, 2024.)

Project 2819: Developing Disciplemakers

What is Project 2819?

Project 2819 is a subscription-based discipleship curriculum library. Subscribers will have access to an ever-growing library of disciplemaking and leadership development curriculum as well as other courses relevant to everyday life in the local church. Project 2819 is a ministry of The Alliance Center for Leadership Development of The Christian & Missionary Alliance.

What are the benefits?

Project 2819 will provide the local church with a video-driven discipleship and leadership curriculum along with handouts for in-depth discussions. The goal is to help the local church build the next generation of Spirit-driven leaders.

• Our curriculum will help move people toward becoming biblically grounded disciples who are making other disciples.

• Churches will have access to all course material for one low monthly fee.

• From the Fourfold Gospel to the deeper life, all courses are designed for use within a C&MA context.

Currently we offer nine courses:

• Four courses on spiritual development—excellent for new members

• Two courses on leadership development

• One course on missions

• One course on evangelism

• One course on mission mobilization

More courses will be added later.

Visit 2819.allianceleaders.org to learn more about how your church can utilize this subscription-based tool.

Alliance Kids

Alliance Kids is excited to share that we will be a featured booth at CCPC24 this January 9–11 in Orlando, Florida. We know that many Alliance churches send their children’s ministry leaders to this annual children’s pastor’s conference, and we are excited to share what God is doing across The Alliance with other leaders and denominations. If your leaders are attending CPC24, please encourage them to visit the Alliance Kids booth!

Vision Trips with Alliance Youth

Alliance Youth is hosting FREE vision trips to Los Angeles, Thailand, and Indonesia Envision sites in the spring of 2025.

These trips give youth workers the opportunity to explore what God is doing through Alliance Missions and create long-term partnerships with the mission field.

Sign up your youth worker here!

Alliance Youth Refresh Gathering 2024

Refresh is an annual gathering for youth workers — paid and volunteer. The purpose is to encourage one another, share best practices, create friendships, and be refreshed through soul care.

Time will be spent casting vision, talking strategy, and sharing resources to equip youth workers. We will tour the LIFE 2025 facilities and unwrap the vision and theme for our national student gathering. Finally, an extended time in worship, prayer, and God’s Word will encourage us to seek His face, experience His presence, and receive renewal.

We are excited to see how God works through Alliance Youth as we focus on developing youth workers for this next season of ministry.

40 Days of Prayer

With summer coming to an end, we’ll soon blink our eyes and the holidays will be upon us, followed quickly by our entrance into 2024.

Once again, the Alliance family will launch the new year with 40 Days of Prayer.

We’ll begin on Monday, January 1, and conclude on Friday, February 9, with a livestream family celebration of what God continues to do in our midst as we remain faithful in seeking Him.

This year’s prayer emphasis will focus on the various aspects of the Lord’s Prayer while we continue in this unique “now” moment we find ourselves in as a fully engaged, Christ-centered, Acts 1:8 family:

• Week 1 – Wake Up now.

• Week 2 – Pray now.

• Week 3 – His now.

• Week 4 – Worship now.

• Week 5 – Family now.

• Week 6 – Evangelize now.

We will be providing our usual packet of resources via email in early November. The resources will include graphics, sample sermon outlines and weekly introductory videos featuring Alliance leaders, as well as children's and youth materials.

Additionally, we’ll also be hosting weekly virtual prayer gatherings on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. ET led by our local Alliance churches in Columbus, Ohio. And we’ll conclude on the high note of a livestream for the Alliance family on the evening of Friday, February 9.

We’d love to have you and your church participate with us. You can select from what we’re doing and add to it with prayer initiatives for your local church. There is no better way to begin the year than being on our knees together seeking the face of God.

Keep the faith!
