The Message this Week

Preaching Text: Luke 9:28-45

Mountaintop moments! Jesus goes up the mountain to pray and is transformed during his prayer. Peter wants to stay in that moment of transformation, but they must come back to the plain… back to the ministry, the crowds, the pain of the world.

Holy God, You show us Your glory and we are filled with awe, but sometimes we struggle to see Your glory in the world and in each other. Help us to connect the dots between Your presence in glory and Your presence in our world. Help us to see You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How can I prepare myself for Lent?

Ash Wednesday Services are next Wednesday, March 5 at 1PM and 7PM. Wednesday Night Soup Suppers and Holden Evening Prayer services begin Wednesday, March 12. Click HERE for the full Lent and Holy Week Schedule.

• Empower scientists and environmentalists in their work, and help us to respond to their calls to care for the earth with bold actions and sustainable practices.
• Grant humble hearts to all who hold positions of power.
• Strengthen those who journey with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses, and all maladies of body, mind, or spirit.
• Bless the ministries and outreach of our congregation. May we be guided by your light in all that we do for our neighbors near and far.
• Help us to follow the example of those who have gone before us and to embrace the path of discipleship in our time as they did in theirs.

Trusting in your mercy and grace, we lift up all of our prayers to you. Amen.
